I'd be interested to know how fast you've travelled whilst in control of your vehicle.....and where. Don't care about legality, just the figures.

Ready - steady - GO!

Nothing above 70 for me. Any quicker than that and the labrador sticks his head out of the window (*why do dogs do that?) and then "we" can't see where we're going.

Uhh, Baroness, if you look at this thread (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=6041&highlight=fastest), you'll see we've covered this. So just add what you've done.:)

ah yes, DVSNCYNIKL , but this is a poll and it's much more exiting with the nice lines at the top....don't you think? From a woman's point of view, I do.

True, since you put it that way. Just wanted to save you the trouble of having this started over again. So I'll just cast my vote.:D

no worries, I spotted the other one but it became more of a geography lesson to be honest....I just want raw figures and pretty pictures

We can merge the two threads and keep the poll. And why's this in the 3 Series forum?

Me neither. I just have a bad feeling about going over 100. Maybe when I get a better car. I have gotten it up to 92 on the way to school. It was on a back-road of course. :D

Well I havn't been driving but a year now. I've had a chevy blazer the hole time. It's pretty sporty for an SUV. I currently have a jetta in my shop. But I've hit 100mph in that blazer. But the biggest rush I've ever had was when I was cut off doin about 90. Thanks to ABS I never hit the old fart knock that cut me off. He was only doin about 40 which made it so hard to not kill myself. Well I know 100 isn't too fast but when my jetta is done I'll have to repost. Keep on Dubbin!!

Took the car up to 140 on the access road to Dulles Airport when I first got it.

This is what I looked like.......:bloated::silly:

Haven't done that since.

I found it to be kind of unsettling. Not to mention, there was a very real possibility of going to jail. I think I enjoy the fast curves of a twisty road alot more than just balls out, straight forward speed!!

I've only hit 90 in my 320i, but it only has a four-speed tranny for now.
Been alot faster than that in other cars, here's some numbers 4ya...

'96 Camry v6 247 Kp / 153 Mph ,rental- no limiter for some reason.

'77 Pontiac LeMans 240 Km / 149 Mph ,I thought we were going to die the front end was shaking so bad!

But the fastest ever was 275 / 170 Mph on a mostly stock '89 GSX-R1100. Amazing ... passing cars as if they were parked and the front tire actually lifted off the pavement. I only had that bike for a few months and I'm glad cause I would have ended up a road smear.

Those were all good days.....

I've got a '91 325ix too and I've been at a solid 120 with it. Man gotta luv those german autos!!

I bought a cobra in Texas and drove it back up to new england where I live, and found that would do about 160 or so.

But the real kicker is that I've gone from Albany, NY to Boston, MA and back again in 4 1/2 hours total, non-stop, from Albany to Boston and back. you do the math. That includes the tolls too!

Fastest I've driven....it was the summer of 95, I'd just graduated highschool. The father of a close friend of mine is a serious car collector. He's shown me picture album books of the cars he's owned. Everything from Ferraris to a '53 Merc. Anyway, he often gave his son the keys to his '90 or '91, don't quite remember, Corvette ZR1. This thing was bitchin'. The motor in that car alone should sell for 25grand today. We were on a new toll road by the beach, so new that it looked like a paved racetrack. The '90 ZR1 has a digital speedometer...and according to Chevrolet's engineers, I was doing 167 in one of there cars. This was over six years ago, and to this day, even on trips to Vegas, I've never had the intention of breaking my own personal record.

'only' 115mph in my golf, maxed out on the motorway.. car unstable, shaking, tyres wobbling, i dont think they were rated for that kind of speed.. the expression on my girlfriend's face when i looked over and told her that! Priceless!
the golf is the only car ive owned and i dont intend to borrow a friend's car to break my record! besides with the amount of speed cameras in the UK its pretty stupid to drive at these speeds.. could have gotten into serious sh*t... oh well...

I have only been up to 100mph on a service road i knew was open. Oddly enough the next day a cop was sitting on the side sniping people. In dallas cops are everywhere so it is hard to enjoy the full power in your hands. Someone earlier said that they with 148 or 146 in a 330ci. The BMWUSA home page states that a 330's top speed is 126, and a M3's is 144. I dont know if this a because of a gov. or not. I havent goten to test the numbers for myself yet. I have been up to 114 in my '95 Explorer. Heh. The BMW got to 100 so effortlessly, i wanted to keep it punched but there was a stoplight ahead and i was in a pretty urban area.:D

have a 89 honda civc that I think 90 is the max

I think it's all in the car's computer. A bit of magic ;) and the US 330 will go the same as it's European sister (brother? ;) )
The only thing I'm not sure is are the brakes in the US versions smaller... That was defenetly the case with Honda Accord Coupe. I used to have one and I compared the US/Canada spec. V6 with European (German) version 2.2. EU Accord had bigger and better brakes.

I doubt if they would put smaller brakes on the US spec...

Fitting smaller brakes just wouldnt make any sense. just because the top speed is different, both cars have the same ability to accelerate and therefore need the same amount of stopping power.

fastest Ive gone was 120 in my 87 CRX. It was about 1:30 A.M on I 94.

I have taken the 528e up to about 110, apparently almost exactly top speed. Owner's manual quotes 111 for '86 528e automatic (my car). Not that fast, but hopefully I'll get an E34 525i soon. Over the past year, I've exceeded 100 about 10 or so times, without much drama due to 225/50R16 tires and a car that's not that slow!

i hit 162 (not bad for a 350 and a 3 speed auto), but that left me with a REALLY hot car that wouldn't start for a few hours, good thing the engines been rebuilt, almost cried, thought i killed it, my fastest passenger place speed was 203 (made me like blown 454 '57 chevy drag cars with nos :>)

wasnt driveing meself but went in this cosworth and holy shit. i av never been in a car so quick in my life. ive own cossys but this must be the beast of them all. going along hits 160 in no time then says hold on. me thinking yes very quick but then he hits the pedle and o my god. it starts burning rubber snakes slightly and o boy revs and speedo went totally off the clock. he said he is running 600ish horses which is nice but 890 foot pound of torque it scared the crap out of me.

Hi guys

I like driving fast and because I live near the german boarder I often get over there to flat out my car.

Fastest I have been was in a rented Alfa Romeo 166 3.0 V6 doing 255 km/h (159 mph) on the Autobahn A81 between Singen and Stuttgart.

Here are the links to the pics:
http://medlem.tripodnet.nu/need4speed/pics/michael_lusk255.jpg
http://medlem.tripodnet.nu/need4speed/pics/michael_lusk250.jpg

I have driven several cars until today and of course I ve seen topspeed and made pics from all of them (You can see all of them on http://come.to/need4speed). Here are the figures:

Seat Leon 1.8 T 20V, 240 km/h
Volvo S60 2.4 A, 225 km/h
Fiat Punto GT, 225 km/h
Opel Astra Caravan 1.6, 210 km/h
Renault Clio 1.4, 202 km/h
Mazda 121, 180 km/h
VW Beetle, 136 km/h

Send in also pics of your car to prove how fast you have really been.

many regards
Michael

In my younger years - had a pinto that would do 120.
Got a ticket doing 128 in a '71 LTD - didn't know that things that big could go that fast!
Biggest rush was doing over 145 in a Datsun 260Z. Took forever to get it stopped!
Just got rid of a '70 Mustang I had in Japan - Old, but it'd still do 120 when I could find a road big enough and clear enought to open it up on.

140 kp/h, this was my toyota corona btw... along a moderate stretch of backstreet at 2am in the morning... handled like a tank past 100 but she got there in the end...

i've also done 130 in my friends chrysler galant (its little 1.5L was SCREAMING!!)... the backstreet has a few kerbs that you have to slow down for, so i popped it back to 3rd, the engine kicked up a few thousand revs, tyres were screaming (coz they were bald)... its pretty much stopped me from doing stuff like that again... or until i can get a car thats meant to perform well at high speeds...

this was all done a few days after i got my liscence, so i was fairly inexperienced at the time...

i've buried the needle in my civic way past te 130mph @ like 6200 rpm. so i'd say somewhere around 140 something.

115 in a 25 once before on a road called rollercoaster hill. it goes downhill and then up sharply giving the feeling of riding a coaster. the G forces are INTENSE.

110 chasing a mustang on ocean ave. (30mph zone) i proceeded to pass him on a turn at about 80mph.

170+ on a friends 'busa when i questioned its capability of speed. i felt it had more but i was NOT about to go any faster. (i was scared shitless as it was)

Okay so I was cruising my mom's 1998 Ford Escort ES Sport(about 92 horsepower to the wheels,a real man's car)on the highway going about 70-75 mph.I come across this rig going about 55.Well you know the phrase,Can't Drive 55,so I whip into the left lane(two-way road)and get on it.About halfway through the trailer(The Escort only took about a minute or two on good days to pass rigs.A true muscle car.)I see a Mack blasting right for me.So I rev the gutsy four cylinder to the point that the powerfull buzzing from the engine almost blew me ears out.I flip it over into the right lane just in time, the huge 13" tigerpaws screeching and pawing for traction.Threw all this conclusion,I realized I had not checked the speedo.96 mph!!!!Trust me,you will never know true performance untill you've revved an Escort to a whooping 96 mph.I became a man that day. :grey:

I regulary do 90-100mph on the B-roads going to work in the UK. Standard Focus.

The fastest was 140mph (probably 125-130 real speed) in my Civic VTi (B16a 160 bhp). It was a clear evening on the Motorway with 3 lanes to myself with about 500rpm to the redline then I sh*t it.

the fastest, it was arround 230kmh (140mph) with an Alfa 166 V6 Turbo.
But usually, I don't overpass 170 (105 mph) on the highway in order to avoid fines and radars.

You can. The speed limit (on the higway) is, in France, 85 mph, but the radars are set on 100 mph. You can drive faster if you want : there are not as many radars as in England or, worse, in the USA.
In Italy, it's better, the spid limit is 95 mph (with a tolerance too).
The best is, of course in Germany, where there are not speed limit.

I hit about 115 in my Cutlass one night and it still had a bit left, but I was on Highway 83 where the speed limit is 65 so I decided not to try to max it out.

This 166 is a 2.0 V6 Turbo 205hp. Very nice car and... very nice motor, as every time by Alfa Romeo ! 0-60mph : 7,9 sec. max speed : 155 mph.
It's the car of my sister's husband.
You feel the turbo when you're accelerating. It's an exceptional car, nice to drive. But, it's not very big inside (for the size of the car), worse than a 5 series !
On the little roads, it's almost agile like a little GTI. And on the Highway, perfect stability and you can go quite fast without knowing it ;)
Finally, i can't forget to speak about the motor's song, so nice.
And I hope I will be able to buy a 156 around 2004.

The max in a car would be the 290 km/h I've done in my brothers Audi S2 with +/- 440 bhp.
We haven't topped it yet... It keeps on going!

The max I've done on a bike would be the 327 km/h I've done on a non-standard Hayabusa.
The original speedometer only goes up to 300 km/h but I mounted a cat-eye bike speedometer and those are very accurate.

The max speed I've done wheelying is 227 km/h underneath a bridge-restaurant on a Dutch highway.

I took my mother's 2002 Ford Escape XLT up to 100-mph once. That thing kicks ass. It's Duretec 32-valve twin-cam V6 has got 200-hp stock & will haul. It's the front-wheel drive version so it pulls harder & is lighter. I think it's good for a high 16 in the 1/4. That don't sound like much, but for me....:sun:

Winter of 1974/75:

A freind had a real oddball... a 1958 Chrysler 300D onto which had been dropped the rear body of the same year Plymouth station wagon. Still had the cool front end, and the 392 Hemi with 2 four-barrels, but a light body and I suspect slightly more aerodynamic. I hit 150mph one afternoon on the freeway.... on bias-ply tires. That should've scared the *** out of me.

just this past week like tuesday I think it was I was doing 95 on this country back road. Doesn't sound impressive but read on. I was coming up on a long sweeping turn so I slowed down to 90 and then about half way through it I got back up to 95 anyway my friend starts telling me to get over. I was focused and didn't listen to him so I look ahead and there's a dip in the pavement that's like 10 feet long, not a sharp dip just a smooth dip in the pavement. anyway I didn't want to swerve so I hit it, the suspension botttomed out completely and when I came out of it the car had to leave the ground by at least 5 inches cause the engine reved and it landed hard as shit. anyway I've had it up to 120 but this incident was more exciting.

:o80-90-100, those are daily crusing speeds for me when driving around the nations capitol, but anything faster then that is very risky. State Troopers are hard pressed to catch "speeders" especially at night and when it's even remotly warm. Thats in fact due to all those bastard copy-cat kids who think they're auditioning for the next Fast & Furious

However there are ways around this, and my top speed has been around 140ish on my 1996 Avalon @ around 4000rpm in 4th, before i ran out of road, and i've yet to try and max since. My 2000 i've only taken up to 127 just because it feels so floaty and out of control at anything over 120mph.

When i was in German (Munich and Hamburg) .. I had a French Customer but they gave up a year ago .. I tried to contacted but nobody answers the phone ... If they still active for sure I'll be visit Paris too .. Ohh .. OK .. :) ..

oh yeah .. at the autobahn 160 kmh is nothing ... but the suspension of the taxi car almost gone .. even the taxi car engine run in high temp for normal MB ... more than 100 ... :D

The Indonesian highway is not good .. only has 2 lane .. u can reach 130 quite easy but above that quite difficult ... many trucks and buses .. some of them trying to overtake the other truck but not enough power .. so u can imagine it .. takes quite long time .. so many times I use the emergency lane to overtakes all of them ... I exagerate when I say 120kmh ! but in the USA, you really can't drive fast because there are cops everywhere and at 160 kmh on an american highway, you can get a big fine. In France or in Italy you can be upset for your wallet from 100 kmh, and no need to specify for Germany ;)
And that's the same on all the American roads which are often much bigger than European ones but where people are far more slower.

I agree with you ... many patrol cars .. like I said .. u have to be careful ... but in LA highway u better match your speed with all other car surround u .. if all of them do 75 mph than u go with the same speed ... if you go less or faster the police might catch u .. and most of the time americans drive about 75 mph to 80 mph (120 kmh to 128 kmh) .. on some american highway there is a car pool lane .. so the car with more then 1 people inside can use this lane .. less crowded lane means faster ... :p .. good for about 85 mph .. :D .. I got busted at 193 km/h once- lost my lisence for 6 months :( The highways in NZ are mostly 1 lane- with 2 lane passing lanes here and there-the motorways of Auckland and Wellington can get as much as 4 lanes  (Still not much compared to some of the highways/motorways in Italy ;))

Anyway the NZ highway is excellent if you like roads with not many cars (Except in the holiday season- where it becomes overcrowded) and NZ drivers suck

My Subaru will top out at 70mph - but would you really want to go any faster in something that small?
Are any of you taking into account speedometer error? The faster you go the greater the difference between your actual speed and the speed your speedometer gives you.
Here in the U.S. we have this great little place called "Montana" I'm not sure what they're doing now but for a long time most of their highways had no speedlimits - it'd be the perfect place to blow out the cobwebs if it weren't for those pesky cross-winds.

hello 2 stroke .. is your subaru the one at your avatar (left side)? .. :) .. the model is very cute? .. what year is that?:) .. r u sure only 70 mph for the top speed? .. how big is the engine? .. :)

about the speedometer error almost always happen in any car .. including the good european car like MB or BMW .. usually the speedo star show error at about 60 kmh .. From the car magazine I knew only Lexus has the very minimal error .. when the speedo show 160 kmh and in reality about 159 kmh ... :) ..

Montana? .. where is that? .. :)

my first car was a 87 camaro v8 sc (had it 6 months then got rear ended by a bronco !!!) , I took it to top speed which is somewhere in the low 130's I believe , wind was coming in through the window seals , im lucky I didnt get pulled !!!! Never taken my newer car above 85 however as I have grown wiser (and im terrified they'll take my car !!! I love my car). Top speed for an 84 z28 with the Automatic is 145 :) , who knows , one day I might give it a shot :)

oh yeah I almost forgot hehe , 1 week after I got my liscense I was driving my moms 1991 or so Ford Taurus (my mom had one , my dad had 2 , needless to say I hate them!!!) well It was late at night and I was curious what moms POS taurus could go..... Got to 88 least thats what the Highway Patrolman told me :zx11pisse .....
fortunately he gave me a warning . Never been caught speeding again :)

The Subaru is a 1969 360 (the one in my avatar is also a 360 but an earlier year) it has a 356cc 25hp engine and 70mph is the top speed (unless you're going downhill)

Montana is almost in Canada, it's at the northern edge of the U.S.

hemm .. nice engine .. what did u do with that to increase the HP?:D .. were u going with chip tuning and mufler or header? .. :D

Jakarta has 4 lanes and 3 lanes highway but so crowded and many times jam ... and when u back to the normal road u have to always deal with crazy buses, trucks, and cars that like to cut your lane anytime ... hahahahahah ... and in jakarta u can grow old on the road becoz of traffic jam almost most of times ... hehehhehehe .. :p ... classic problem for the big city I think ... :) ... jimster .. last christmas and last new year u should go to Bali .. the Hotels give about 50% to 80% Discount even the 5 stars ... Thanks Hamann , I know I love the color , I think it one of the best looking blues I ever have seen , when I repaint the car I think Im going to use the same color :) , I think its a mixture of chrysler royal blue and a little metal flake , that what I think the original owner told me , he painted the car him self :) , i need a repaint though , its going on 6 or 7 years old and is starting to flake in places it got chipped (under the bra is bad , why it was on there , the bra didnt do it but when it got bad I had to cover it). As for the car , I love it I cant think of anything in the price range I'd ever trade it for :)

hehe no dirt roads , a girl I knew wanted me to take her back into Nags Head Woods here in NC , its not really a good road for any sports car but my car cleared the little hills fine , at low speed. Didn't know the dirt was so loose every time I'd slow down it would start to get stuck so I kept going about 30 through the woods , was a fun rough drive if anything, but when I got out the car and saw what happened to the nose I almost had a heart attack.
I thought about maybe adding some pearl to it so it would be glossier I keep it waxed pretty good but I'd like it wetter. All depends on how much money I have when I paint her. I havent finished with the motor yet , when I have it at a horsepower level I feel I'm happy with I'll go ahead and have the car painted and I'll start to seriously show it. I show it now but its nowhere near mint enough to win a serious car show :)

hehe I've only got the basics done so far , see exhaust and filter. Going to add a msd coil soon , then gonna mess with some slightly more powerful secondary metering rods , i've heard ck's are good for these .then probably an intake (probably an edelbrock performer EGR), 1.6 rockers , edelbrock tubular exhaust system (headers!!!), . Then either gonna get some s/r torquer 305 heads or just have some 1.94 intake valves put in my stock heads along with a good 3 angle valve job. Of course a complete longblock swap isnt out of the question , I have an ole 68 vette 350 horse 327 that has nothing to go in yet , been thinking of trying a modified version of the 350 HO swap GM makes for this car :). A car like mine with the 350 HO conversion ran the 1/4 in the 13.8 second range :)

if u change ur coil better to go with the wire too ... :) .. Edelbrook is a famous brand too .. must be good .. how about porting your cilinder head .. raise the compression .. is it cheaper compare to swap the whole block? ... :) ..

My brother have a 427 CI Ford Mustang Engine ... and he bought a 67 mustang .. in the end the engine couldn't be installed bcoz too big .. I told him but he never listened .. hahhahaha .. so he sold the body but still keep the engine .. so crazy ... hahhaha .. :)

well going 310 is a great feeling. the streets have to be empty. you always have cars that donīt look back and just change lanes... but it was ok.
well driving 310 is very hard to describe. you have to feel it. the car was lying quite good on the street. good downforce (if i compare to my z3 who begins to get airy at the rear axle at about 220.)
the steering is maybe a bit to easy at high speeds.
the sound of the watercooled engine is awesome. the 993 turbo is my favourite turbo. it has much more style than the 996 ;)

hi,

do you mean oil and water temp or the outside temp? well outside temp... was sunny. air temp about hm 17 and street maybe 22 or so.

well 310 i only reeched short cause i had to brake down to about 120.
a ******* blue ford fiesta changed the lanes....
the porsche runs about 325 kmh. itīs not stock itīs a bit modified by RUF.
most of the time i ran between 200-300 for about half an our... well hat was soooooooooo much fun you cannot imagine.
btw. i cannot wait for our z4 :) weīll buy one maybe in autumn.
ac-schnitzer offers nice tuning stuff for the z4. but iīll probably only get racing rims type 3. or the bbs CH. iīm not sure. the bbs challenge would only cost me about 1800$ but the ac schnitzer more than 6000$. and i donīt know why i should pay so much more for the wheels hmmm.

yep :) , I can build this lil 305 HO to around 300hp for less than $1000 without taking the block out :). Can go higher if I switch to fuel injection which is easy because 85-86 tp. The engine swap becomes less a good idea to me the longer I think about it. Sure the hp I could build on a 350+ block are endless but I have to worry about street legallity and tuning . You wouldnt believe how many performance parts thier are for this ole 84 carbed 305 HO. It all comes down to what do I want to spend and how much work do I want to put into it. Also I have to ask myself , "Do I need a 400+HP daily driver?" . Also after thinking about it , I can afford to do an engine swap on this thing the street legal and right way. If it cant pass inspection what am I gonna do with it ? I think I'm going to save that 327 HO (350hp) motor I have for when I finally get that 69 camaro I'm always dreaming about :)!!!

Hey ... once u install that rims please load some pics here ok ... :D ... how come the price so big different? ... yesterday I came to see the new showroom ... it was so amazing .. they have 1 green murcielago, 1 of 360 red modena, 1 of 360 silver cabrio, 1 of yellow 355, 2 porsche turbo, 1 boxster, 1 black maserati 4200 gt, 1 black aston martin DB 7, some RR and Bentley, 2 jaguar XKR, some new 500 SL, and some other expensive cars ... I was checking at the 355 ... the car use for only 178 km on the odometer but the centre plastic dashboard console was wash out ... make me fell down .. but my eye kept starred at the so gorgeous Murcielago ... so wide, low, and macho ... the problem is the will sell it for USD 560000 ... ... so I have to tried very hard not to look at it but I fail ... hahhahahahahhaha ... :) :D

the speedometer only went up to 130 but I had it probably a half inch over that so I'll guess 135 with 1500 RPM left but no more acceleration.

170 mph in the car (Lambo) and 183 mph on my bike (Yamaha R1).

The car has more to give, but I just need to find a long enough road, devoid of other traffic.

180kmh = 111.8486 mph :)

I've had the GTR up to 275kmh or 170.8 mph.

Oh momma I love speeeed :D

Yeah, the German Autobahn rocks! Lots of parts of the German highways have no speed limit, go as fast as you could! :iceslolan

The fastest I made with my Opel Corsa A aka Vauxhall Nova was 185 km/h and that car has only 45 hp!

And I drove the new BMW Z4 with the 3.0l engine, kicked it to 250 km/h. You canīt go fast with it 'cause the speed is limited by BMW to avoid accidents etc.

I've done:
158 on my R-6
115 in my Fiero
125 in my Firebird

My friend has a GSXR 1000 he's been 164, but the crazy thing is he was in 4th gear with 2000 RPM left before redline!

The scariest thing though was going 80 in my 1979 Blazer, all of the steering bushings were worn out and it walked badly. The only time I thought I was going to die.

I've taken my car to around 162 when it actually stopped and started to slow to top out at 131mph. I found out later I had blown a spark plug. I thougt the Turbo was dead. But the turbo has nothing to do with Top Speed. It just gets u there much faster. I've raced cars from Mustangs, to Suped up Eclipse and Accords with only 5 spark plugs. Still left them in the dust. I changed the plugs and so i'm taking on Vipers and Vettes again. Looking to upgrade to a stage "3" mod for my 911. That will give me about 500hp with a dual Turbo. 0-60 should rocket me into the 3.9 range. i can hit 0-60 now after service in about 4.5 second range.

I did 15mph through a car park in my dad's Clio
Didn't even press the accelerator, just let go of the clutch and rolled...
(If you're 13)Since you can drive on your own land or someone elses with there permission but not on the road. Could a 13 yr old drive at a race track with the track owners permission???????
Just asking:bigthumb:

Let's say for a moment that your serious, which I asuume you are NOT. There is No track existing in the United States that will let a 13yrold, or non-licenses driver as a matter of a fact, get behind of the wheel of a car and race down it. Maybe in France, Russia, or some God awful African nation where they just don't care, but not here kid. So I suggest that you sit back, enjoy being fresh out of your pre-teens, and wait for your turn. :bigthumb:

Well, in my '94 Grand Prix SE coupe, I saw 115 on the interstate on my way back from Jacksonville, AL. I had been to the Regional Basketball tourney my senior year, and my dad had told me my car had a speed limiter, probably around 93mph. Me and my friends decided to give it a shot, and we had the speedo maxed out, cause it only went to 115.

In the '97 Bonneville SSE, I probably saw 75-80, never gave it a shot.

In my '97 GTP, I've seen 93, couldn't go any faster cause my friend in his '92 Camaro RS was in front of me, and apparently he got scared at 93 and wouldn't go any faster. Supposedly, the speed limiter on this car is 126, but I haven't got on the interstate and maxed it out yet  I can tell you that at 93, she's still got plenty more to give!

Farbod which cars do you have? what models? :smokin:

I raced an SL 55 AMG on the road a few days ago! i went 140, but the SL just kept going to 155, and i didnt want to push it because it was a crowded motorway, although people were moving out the way for us. I was ahead towards the end, but boy the SL's are quick! :sunglasse

I'd be interested to know how fast you've travelled whilst in control of your vehicle.....and where. Don't care about legality, just the figures.

Ready - steady - GO!

According to the state trooper, I was doing 168 mph in Camaro...thank goodness for knowing the trooper. I was on a long straight back country highway in Texas.

The bad news came while I slowing down to get my lecture; I blew a heater hose and had to call a tow truck.

128 at some time between 12am and 3am on a 4 lane divided road on the outside of town. I turned the OverDrive off before the "race" and the guy wouldn't let up after me beating him so we just kept going until I was about to hit redline in 3rd and since the OD was off it wasn't going to shift (Arrrgggg stupid automatics).

The details have been held because of the possibility of incrimination

I get chills reading these numbers. Here in New York I am not going more then 10 over the limit in most cases because of the points and insurance premium increase, however when I traveled to Quebec I did 105-110 twice, ones in a Grand marquis and the second time in a Toyota Sienna both reatals, I took the risk because I tought they don't share the conviction records, then when I checked the NY Dept. Motor Vehicle website it says that they do share info with Quebec and Ontario, that was funny to me because they don't share with any other State. Try to understand why...

Hi folks!
I went approx. 180-190 km/h in my first car ever, a SAAB 900 EMS '80. Hard to say how fast I was going, the speedo showed 200 km/h but then you have to calculate with the fact that almost every car shows higher speed than you are really travelling in. Im my rescent car, a Citroën BX 19 GTi '90 I haven't tried yet to run it all the way, but 170 on the speedo is no problem, steady as a rock and almost 1000 revs left to the redline. Mighty fun car to drive, but it's funnier to drive on a twisty road instead of going in a straigt line.

Best regards from Sweden
Niclas
