30 LS No sound from radio 5 volts at amp

03 Ls radio works but no sound only 5 volts at amp.
happened before but when taking amp down it started to work so I left it alone till now.

Could be a short in the amp.
My '01 amp died on me a while back. It was intermittent before it died, but sometimes seemed heat related(hot trunk)---and sometimes not.
For a while I just jumpered a couple of speakers to the radios output wires in the trunk but then found an cheap Ebay jumper harness to bypass the amp until I located a suitable amp at the junk yard(45 bucks).
When finding a replacement be careful, these amps may look alike but they must be programmed differently for different models/years/whatever
