Trying to reduce weight on civic

I have a 97 civic and am trying to reduce weight, does anyone have any ideas?? i plan on taking out the back seats is it worth it, same with my spare tire and equipment in the trunk.

Removing the back seats and your spare/jack is a great place to start for free weight reduction on any car. Your other option is to replace parts like the hood with carbon fiber, or buy lighter wheels. Tons of parts can be found in a "lightweight" version, if you're really trying to shave off every pound you can.

how extreme are you wanting to go.. just remember the more you take out the less comfortable itll be.. you can probably shave 150 lbs or so off if you want to get wild with it.

yeah, I mean, if you wanna go all out, you can take out the passenger seat, AC, door panels, radio, but that's a little extreme. you can also take off the power steering, that'll give you some horses

dont forget your bumpers (not the bumper cover) Not very safe though but they are heavy, all your sound deadening stuff, power steering( if you have it)

If your not really serious about it though.. I wouldnt really take anything out. Cause things like your spare tire and jack, and backseats probably wont make that noticeable of a difference

haha, my civic has no sound deadening in it. my muffler is soooo loud in the cabin

damn.. I could imagine.. Mines loud enough and it still has everything it is.. Ive even tried to add more..
