HELP!! I'm addicted to rice!carrrnuttt 06-28-2003, 06:36 PM I HAVE DONE IT AGAIN... I swore I'd cut down...but I did it...I killed another ricer. Ever since I got this car, and realized that it can and will cut down most of the pretenders out there...while looking like a cheaper econobox than an '86 Civic...I haven't been able to control my urge to "show-up" the local ricers. Here's the story: Coming home from filling up my gas tank this morning, I notice this gold 1992-1993 Accord 2 dr, with CF Altezzas, and at least a cat-back (LOUD) driving aggressively behind me. It passes me up, and takes the left turn lane. I just had the feeling that he wasn't done driving aggressive, and that if provoked, he would bite. I went and took the turn he was making...even though it was the opposite way of where I was supposed to be heading. He was first in line, with another car behind him, and me. As the light turns, he did take the turn quickly, as I expected. As I clear the car in front of me, I gun it and start catching up, and I eventually pass him. I don't know if he was trying when I passed him, but he certainly started shadowing me after. Due to a couple of cars around us, I didn't go too fast, but he stayed behind me. I eventually ended up at a light next to a different car, with them directly behind me, revving. HA! they bit...lol. So, that light turned green, I take-off aggressively, and piss them off even more by waving bye-bye in my rear-view at them. I know I had the jump, but they never gained, but instead steadily got smaller in my rear-view. We ended up behind yet another light. This light happened to be malfunctioning, and was a blinking red, which everyone was treating as a stop sign. With the cars in front of us, it gave time for this discourse: Passenger: (signals for me to roll my window down) Me: (rolls window) Driver: That car's not fast man, you got the jump on us! Passenger: Yeah! Me: You wanna do it from a stop for 20 bucks? Driver: Yeah!...What you got in there? Me: Stock. Driver: I'm stock too...( ) At this point, I just laugh and turn towards the light. Fortune has it that we were exactly side by side as it was both our turns to go from the light. I hear him rev it up a bit. I didn't drop the clutch too hard (it's getting worn...need a new one:(). I dropped it from 2000RPM, and stood on the gas. I chirped for a second, and instantly got a 1-car jump on them. From there, I just pulled all the way to 80, where I flashed my hazards. They were about 5-6 cars behind. I slowed down and rolled my window back down (did I mention I had my AC on?). They got next to me where another conversation happened: Driver: I'll get you next time! You have a DOHC in there! Me: Well, the SE-R in the back, which I'm sure you saw, means something... Driver: Well if I had VTEC, it would have been a different story, you know that right?(   ) (SEE: Ricer Racing Excuses (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t111782.html)) Me: (uncontrollably laughing) Driver: Wait till I get my H22 in here, I'll see you around... Me: (stifling laughter)...You ever heard of an SR20? Driver: Yeah. That what you have? Me: (stifling laughter) No...( ;) ) Passenger: (remains quiet the whole time) So, they gun it and take-off...while I make a right on a side-street so I can go back on my merry way. Then I realized I forgot to ask for my 20 dollars...:bloated: -The Stig- 06-28-2003, 06:46 PM Originally posted by carrrnuttt Then I realized I forgot to ask for my 20 dollars...:bloated: :slap: Dumbass! The Word Ricer to many Asian people might seem racist... Although I doupt very much you mean it that way... (same here, now maybe you understand.) I'm not one ot start up on Racial issues... (not the place I would think!!??) but I did take a beating from you for using a word that refers to a county not a race. Like I said, I do not believe you mean in a bad way... I know many many wealthy ass Asians that eat rice regularly... Thats like saying low income white folk eat hamburgers.. hahahhaha. Eating rice is part of the Asian culture.. and I should know something about that since i'm full Chinese. You obviously don't understand what the term "Ricer" means. Roughly, it is a person who is more concerned about show than go, despite his/her tendency to feel that their vehicle is superior in the speed category. Pretty much a poser in automotive terms. Ricer is definitely not a term of racial prejudice... probaly more like automotive prejudice. Carnutt: Dammit! you always get the good action! I've had my car for 2 weeks, and not a person on the road has wanted to race me! carrrnuttt 06-29-2003, 04:32 PM Originally posted by Donham Not trying to beat a dead horse, been waiting for it to come out from ya... but not too long ago I was flamed by yourself for using the Term "jap" that is ahort word for Japan, like Brit does British etc.. if you remember..., but the word "Ricer" is a long word for Rice, something most low income Asians (ie. a RACE of people) have to eat to llive... The Word Ricer to many Asian people might seem racist... Although I doupt very much you mean it that way... (same here, now maybe you understand.) scott LOL. Ricer is not racist to Asians. Ricer has been used as a description for YEARS for tasteless, stickered-out, kitted-out, fart-can having cars. There are import rice, and domestic rice. Domestic rice can be as simple as GT/Cobra badges on a V6 Mustang, or as elaborate as this red Grand Am I saw with yellow vinyl all over it's sides, a rigged bodykit, chrome rims, and a TWO wings. Lastly, rice, although considered an Asian staple, is not only eaten as a regular meal by Asians. Spanish rice and Cajun rice come to mind. Do you think Uncle Ben is getting rich off just the Asian population in the U.S.? Besides I don't think Uncle Ben is Asian:icon16:. carrrnuttt 06-29-2003, 04:39 PM Originally posted by Fliquer I thought SE-Rs had sr20de engines. Or were you messing with him? That's what the guys who run SE-R's around here do. Mostly because SE-R is a feared badge in the Ohioan import scene from way back when my Dad's GLH Omni was the talk of the town. I've seriously thought about it, including de-badging or re-badging my car to an SE. By removing the wing, though, I'd have to get a high brake-light for my car, since the stock one's integrated into the wing. I'll DEFINITELY de-badge my car when I get my SR20DET . Plus, I'm thinking of getting even lighter rims than my stock aluminums, and getting it powdercoated a flat-black. Ricers REALLY won't know what hit 'em. SiXPuSHA 06-30-2003, 05:02 PM Heh, thats looking like my route. Its getting painted glossy black soon, the headers and cat back will be on as soon as they arrive, all embems are comming off (including the v6 badge), no dealer stripes down the sides, 1.5 inch drop. The 15-16 inch flat back rota slipstreams, or my stock 15inch rims refurbished :iceslolan . Then i'll have a bit more fun.
