Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014 - info and pics

I'm there from Thursday though to the Saturday - Thursday on my own, Friday with my best mate and Saturday, for the 1st time that he can remember [I took him with my wife when he was 1 year old] I'm taking Thomas as an 8th Birthday present :)

I am aware that at least 1 F1 will be there, although obviously I'm hoping for more :)

Is anyone else going? Patrick? Roger? Martin? Keith? Al? Russ?......

Awesome, Goodwood is on my bucket list when I finish uni. (one of many things to do, though).
Enjoy and looking forward seeing photos here and on other sites.

I am present on friday and will arrive on thursday in London and will leave sunday. So if anyone wants to go to London and have a beer, be my guest:-)

There is usually 1 mclaren there,allthough last year was the best! Would'nt mind seeing the Bmw fina gtr,not seen for a while.

Maybe Greg knows, but I would kind of expect to see 19R at Goodwood this year now that its "issues" have been sorted.

Having it there together with 03R would be the ultimate though.

At LeMans I heard about 5 F1's, no chassis numbers given so far, but 06R would be one of them.

Seems like it. Only these 2 but the #19R really takes the show there!
I simply LOVE THE livery. So so beautiful!

I can not resist to write this one already....

I wonder what happens next year.... 1995 Le Mans win celebrations are definitely at least during Le Mans, but I bet McLaren will pull up something to FOS 2015 also. They have to do something. British team won it's debyt race the Le Mans and 5 cars finished the race.
McLaren has to celebration that also in Goodwood in FOS next year, am I Right? :smokin:

It would be fantastic to hear some plans what they up to. Next year will be the year at least to me see serval GTR's in one trip to Europe. Of course all JJ Lehto's ex GTR's would be nice to see #01R, #10R, #12R, #21, #24R, #26R when looking this from Finnish view, BUT also XP1 LM would be one of the biggest dreams what I have "left" from this years spring in Finland where I saw The Miura and 2000GT Toyota. Next up F1 GTR's perhaps?!:smokin:

That's why it would be nice to have some confirms some point and enough early what McLaren will do in Le Mans and Goodwood's FOS 2015.

I had another great day today - the weather held out; I was there with my best mate, saw John Surtees, JK, Derek Bell, Stirling Moss and Kenny Brack amongst other notables; chatted to tak43 [I got your voicemail but saw when I got home that you resolved your WWW gremlins and hosted the pics ;)]and Le Man; got to see #19R go up the hill and, at the time of his run, Kenny set the time of the day; had a lengthy chat with Dean Lanzante, his Dad Paul etc and ended the evening with a nice meal in a lovely restaurant paid for by my mate!! Oh, and I bought some memorabilia off a new contact today - I'll update the relevant thread when I have time to take the pics [it's worth the wait ;)]


Tomorrow looks wetter, but I'm there with Thomas my 8 y/o, so we're going to stay all day and soak up [excuse the pun] the atmosphere, let him run riot taking photos and collecting all the freebies on the stands and generally have him on my shoulders to see the cars for 95% of the day! :)

#19R really is the dog's bollocks. Looks amazing in all black but the graphics finish it off, really suits the car.

Every time I see #06R I can't help but feel it'd look better in it's '95 guise with the earlier OZ wheels in gunmetal rather than black and BPR number rather than the position of it's LM number. Can't shake the feeling that some sponsor logos are missing too, nor that the Castrol logos aren't the right font. Could very well be wrong though.

Never met Dean Lanzante but Paul is a very nice fella and very easy to chat to even with my somewhat horrendous speech problems, especially when meeting someone like that whome I hold in awe, so no reasoun to believe he would be any different. Two very knowlegable guys.

He was the perfect gent with me and Thomas - scruffled up my boys hair, had a few words with him, he was very accommodating and had a lot of time for a lot of people from what I saw.

I can only agree - I had a nice chat with him last year when he signed my F1 picture collection ...

I am back home again from a nice weekend FoS/London!

Another great Goodwood day out. Yet again i see a new Mclaren when Greg is near me! 19r looked great,sorry didnt get chance to meet up Greg,it was such a busy day. I hung around 19r quite a bit.
The drive down ended well as i followed an orange mp4-12c at 6.30am into Goodwood.

The FOS never fails to deliver! Lets see what silverstone brings in a few weeks?
