Hey all,

I raced my friend in his NX2000 last night, we had our other friend flag for us, and as soon as he dropped his hands I started pulling.

I launched at 3k rpms, and let the clutch out kinda slow to keep from spinning too badly. Pulled ahead right from the start, shift to second keep the lead, hear him shift into second right before I go into third. He stayed pretty much a car's length behind me for the whole race.

We kept racing until I hit fifth and decided to slow down, I hit my flashers and put on my brakes to let him know I was done and he goes flying by :p

I thought he was going to beat me since I have heard those things are pretty light and it has the SR20... Oh well. I finally got my revenge on the SR20 after losing to my friends 200sx se-r :)

I guess my car isnt as pathetically slow in a straight line as I thought it was...

Not flaming...I believe you, but you should tell your friend he needs to learn how to drive and/or get the car checked out.

You lost to a 200SX SE-R, which is heavier, with a less agressive SR20 (7100RPM vs 7500RPM redline), yet lost to the NX, which is barely heavier than my Sentra.

Edit: Tell your friend to be more aggressive...one of the advantages (in a straight line) of the car is it's huge front-weight bias, which puts most of the car's weight over the drive wheels, and the LSD, which allows for more aggressive launches than most FWD cars can usually manage.

Believe me man, I was totally expecting to lose... I drove his car after we raced and it was pretty quick, but the clutch was really strange. had to push the clutch all the way to the floor to shift or it would grind, so maybe that had something to do with me winning.

The clutch in my car isn't in the greatest of shape, so I guess it all evens out. His car is all stock and my car only has the bottom of the airbox cut off. Maybe he doesn't know how to drive, but that only makes the win better because it means I won because I drove better instead of winning because I had the faster car... :D

Sounds like the clutch assembly is worn. I never have to do that with my car...and I have 116,000miles on it.
