Slammed Convertible.....ChrisF 11-14-2001, 02:30 AM Hi, I've just joined the forum and in need of some help. I've just purchased a 325i Convertible (1994). It has a full M3 kit and wheels fitted (17" - tyres are 235/45/17). The rear shocks are a bit saggy so I want to change the complete suspension (front and rear) to level it out. I want to drop it as low as possible without cause any tyre rubbing. I also don't want to break the bank!! Can anyone recommend any suspension kits which would slam the car. All the obvious companies like Koni, Avo, Bilstein only offer a 30mm drop, but I'd like ot go double that. ( don't really want to fork out for a set of coilovers). I have around £500 to spend. Any help would be greatfully received. Cheers Chris:D :D :D :D Ken Livingstone 11-14-2001, 10:56 AM Well the first thing that springs to mind is the county you live in. Essex. First off do you think Essex will ever shake its image if people like you go around removing perfectly good cars of their suspension. Do you also tune your car and thus increase its fuel consumption, adding to the detrimental effects that waste exhaust gases have on the environment? As it stands why dont you get Gordon Brown MP and his chums to sit in the back, that should lower it a touch. If you are looking for a dolly to sit in the passenger seat, could I suggest you look no further than Valerie Davey, Labour MP for the Bristol West Constituency. http://www.labourbriswest.demon.co.uk/graphics/valportraitstanding.jpg Ohh if only I was a few years younger, I would beat you to it. Remeber, a safer London is a Labour London. Ken CarsRcrap 11-14-2001, 10:56 AM You could always trade it in for a 500cc bike and improve the performance to Porker 911 levels. Gordon Brown 11-14-2001, 11:03 AM Kenneth, I've told you before, any more cracks about my weight and I'll see you outside in Parliament Square for a good seeing to. You're no lightweight yourself. :flipa: Big Tank 11-14-2001, 11:05 AM You be one SAAAAAAAAAAD Motherfucker David Blunkett 11-14-2001, 11:11 AM Now now ladies, behave yourselves or I'll set my dog on you. Are you still here? Who turned the lights out? Crispin Blunt 11-14-2001, 11:13 AM Excuse me Mr Big Tank, could you refrain from such expletives........ I do agree that the idea of "Slamming" this car seems rather silly however Big Tank 11-14-2001, 11:14 AM Sorry, Are you going to have a set of BIG SUBS? Ken Livingstone 11-14-2001, 11:19 AM Could I refer to the right honourable gentleman as a poof? Gordon Brown 11-14-2001, 11:21 AM I'm sorry, if we're going to start talking about Subs I'll have to refer the question to my Right Honourable colleague Geoff Hoon MP in his capacity as Secretary of State for Defense John Prescott 11-14-2001, 11:34 AM I'll help if you want to flatten yer suspension, cock. Crispin Blunt 11-14-2001, 11:42 AM What the hell are you doing here Fat bloke "2 jags" ????? Get back to the jaguar forum Boyracer 11-14-2001, 11:46 AM Don't you dammed politician try to put a downer on cars If I want to buy stripes and big stereo to make it go faster I will:devil: Baroness Maggie 11-14-2001, 12:47 PM When I was in power, you lot would be behaving or I'd ship you off to the Falklands. Anyway, what's this about a Beemer wanting to be dropped? In Essex? What's wrong with a white XR3i young fellow? You can get more in the back of one of those and Sharon and Tracey would be pleased to cruise around Harlow in that. You could even whip them off to Southend and ponce along the sea front. It's a bit slow too, this fat old 6-er. Priller could beat you away from the lights (and into the nearest wall....) You need a TVR - that's street cred. But it will break down. Now run along......has anyone seen my son Mark recently? Maggie T David Blunkett 11-14-2001, 12:48 PM Actually, I'd be interested in any info on lowering the suspension. You see, my labrador's getting on a bit and can't make the jump up onto the passenger seat any more. I can't go anywhere without him, obviously. :bloated: David Blunkett 11-14-2001, 12:50 PM Originally posted by Baroness Maggie ......has anyone seen my son Mark recently? Maggie T I havent, funnily enough. Baroness Maggie 11-14-2001, 12:57 PM last time I heard from him was in 1981 when he was in the desert somewhere.....anyway, no loss. Dennis can fit in the bed better now. Baroness Maggie 11-14-2001, 12:58 PM Happy Birthday Young Fellow. Getting any tonight? Big Tank 11-14-2001, 01:00 PM I do hope so!!!! ChrisF 11-15-2001, 01:20 AM Whats the point in buying an unreliable TVR when I've got a 400hp 300ZX TT which'll smoke virtually any of them!!?? I only asked a simple question about lowered suspension and everybody comes back with complete bollox answers???? On the standard suspension, the car handles crap, and being used to the handling of the Nissan (Tokico shocks all round), I want it to be better, thus lowering it. I know its not the quickest car around but I didn't buy it for speed. I just don't want it rolling around bends. Anyway, forget I even asked, it seems like I will get more helpful answers from my Gran than any of you lot........:o Boyracer 11-15-2001, 12:49 PM Look if you want it to go faster and handle better go paint it red and put some stripes on it and a large stereo system it works for everyone else in Essex oh and dont forget the Wanye and Tracey sticker on the wind screen else it proberley won't start. Hope that helps :flash: ChrisF 11-16-2001, 01:14 AM Boyracer, if you actually look closer at the subject, it was only about suspension, not speed. I only mentioned it because another of your dickhead pals mentioned speed. Sort you life out - muppet, and naff off back to whatever sheep sh&!$ing place you come from. If you havn't got a sensible answer to a question then why bother wasting my time reading your crap replies. (Oh and try and spell Wayne properly next time). Obviously spelling doesn't share part of that single brain cell you have...... Boyracer 11-16-2001, 08:23 AM Arent we the argresive one just because no one gives a toss about you crappy car don't take it out on me I gave you all the help you need to improve your car and make it the pride of Essex and thats the thanks I get. Some people eh PS if you folloe my advice you'll have loads of girls in white high heel dripping with cellulite wanting to sleep with you and being from Essex you'd love that wouldnt you  ChrisF 11-16-2001, 09:27 AM You are one sad sad prick..... get a life..... ChrisF 11-16-2001, 09:31 AM How can you call it crappy when I bought it as a runabout.???? Boyracer 11-19-2001, 10:10 AM Well its a car and all cars are crappy take it from me Im a biker and you got fished Sucker :flipa: ChrisF 11-19-2001, 10:16 AM You're one sad biker then wasting your own time on this forum. On a serious note, what bike ya got. I'm gonna be buying a GSXR in the coming weeks and need a bit of advice - none of this childish banter..... Boyracer 11-19-2001, 10:17 AM Nah mate I was just for a day. What type of GSXR are you buying ? ChrisF 11-19-2001, 10:19 AM Probably a 600cc as i think I'd die on an 1000!! It was either one of them or a Ducati 900 SS, but I've heard bad things about them.... Boyracer 11-19-2001, 10:29 AM Nowt wrong with a duke mate I ride an old 750ss class piece of kit highley recommend. I,ve ridden a GSXR 1000 and they are not for the faint hearted. Can I ask have you been riding long or are looking at doing a DAS test then getting a bike ? ChrisF 11-19-2001, 10:33 AM spot on, I'm gonna doing the direct access course after Xmas, but may buy the bike before as I have seen a few at good prices. I'm not really sure where I'm going, I'm just listening to advice from dealers, friends etc..... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
