hi there,
here again with another body project :naughty::naughty:. this time it will be the nice Ferrari 458GT3,and I would like to finish it in the aggressive livery fetured by Valentino Rossi with monsters logo:
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-QsEvnJSMaK0/Uv_-GRZfmpI/AAAAAAAAW-8/HpykkqFyygU/w880-h660-no/4.jpg
the build up of the body will be similar to the previous model I did about the GT2 car used by AF Corse, posted in this forum time ago.
For whom intersted here a link to that build:

Hi Paolo,
I'm looking forward to this one. Are planning on casting this to sell? I would be very interested.
Best regards,

Interesting project....a GT3 kit of the 458 is long overdue frankly (I want to do this car too!!) - can't believe one hasn't been done already :frown: (and the Audi), I'll be following this for sure...:smokin:

thank u so much for the interest guys.
I dont have plans to cast this body.
Before I also would like to see how it comes out...cause so hard conversions are always a big challenge.
A major issue is around wheels, even if I think they could be made soon in 3dprinting (maybe mike from scaleprod?).

It is a wonderful car, and is a must in a collection of racers, together with the gt2 car.
Even searching documentation I ended looking at VAD design from uk. Seems they produce a full bodykit to make a streetlegal 458 looking alike very very similar to a gt3 racer. In their nice website they also have strange and very cool alternative versions for rwb porsches, with ducktail. too cool stuff really.
Between their nice pics they also place interesting details of the parts to be scratchbuild or converted for the racer version:

note this car owned by Kessel Racing and driven by Valentino is an older version than the actual ones racing the last Blancpain championship.Time ago the pilot of Dorr Motorsport gave me a very nice link of his brand new GT3 (real lucky guy Hans Peter..:)) made by Michelotto in Padova. The last gt3´s for 2013 and 2014 are quite different from the car I am making.
All the pics I am using as reference can be seen at my pubblic link here:

very good news today for me.
Just few days ago I sent an email to Michael from HD, asking if maybe they will make in future those wheels. This cause at today I just seen 3d and no idea if and when they could be available.
I like a lot all the new wheels they are making.Last cast are also excellent printed in resin.
Michael Wang confirmed me HD will make those wheels as approved today by company. He also was very thanksful for the good idea I gave him. Just hope they maybe will also make the entire 458gt3 car in future. This about wheels is anyway a GREAT help and too good news for me. :)

Paulo,
Build looks great, you are making very nice progress. You're body work looks better then what I've managed on mine so far. So I'll be watching closely so I can correct my mistakes.
Also, great news about the wheels. I've been looking for a set of these for mine as well with no luck so far. Will be nice to hopefully get a set soon.

And waiting Mike or HD to sell the wheels. First comes first served :)

Hi ferrari 174,
the maker of the this body is "Myhands.ab" , located between sweden and italy :D Just kidding. There is no model of it around :)
Looking at the pics I found online seems the interior differences on dashboard , cockpit and engine bay are very limited and not really so far away from the street version.
Probably the inner part will be much more easy than gt2 car. also roll cages tubes looks quite thinner than bigger cathegory.
Much better, I cant wait to start the decal process.
About rear wing I was looking at this one done by HD for the bmw z4gt3, but it seems to me a little bit exagerated in the inner angles of the wing
http://www.ebay.it/itm/321189072894?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
must search something suitable or build also this. It is a shame no company provide a good list of rear wings for cars in 24.I just found around the curved ones used mostly on japanese jgtcc cars. The only straight one is this one for the z4. does anybody knows if some manifacturer makes such type wings?

About rear wing I was looking at this one done by HD for the bmw z4gt3, but it seems to me a little bit exagerated in the inner angles of the wing
http://www.ebay.it/itm/321189072894?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
must search something suitable or build also this. It is a shame no company provide a good list of rear wings for cars in 24.I just found around the curved ones used mostly on japanese jgtcc cars. The only straight one is this one for the z4. does anybody knows if some manifacturer makes such type wings?

Don't worry. The translation was really good. I am French Canadian and I can tell you translator work wonderfully. I am actually surprised that it is so good.

Paulo,
For the rear wing on my 458 I made it using the wing from a Corvette C6R kit. I cut it in the middle then added about 2mm wide strip of evergreen card to widen it some. It looks good to me. I'd post a pic but atm I cant find the box with the Ferrari in it as Im doing some reno's upstairs and shit is literally everywhere. Hope this might help.

@ georges99 : thanks. I wrote text in italian in the clearest and easy way possible. Think is the best way to make it work and comunicate also with friends not speaking english. :)
@ David : thank u, will love to see the pic when u will post it, even if I would prefer save the revell vette (I like all of theme...have a giant pile of versions to make).
Really strange no aftermarket accessories around for theme. The one I used in my 430 gt2 was a rework of the big one coming from a 956 scrapped, the one over my 458 gt2 was coming from the scaleauto porsche rsr slot body....but now I have finished all the scrapped stuff...

another good news about wheels just arrived.
Seems also scaleauto is making this kinda rims for the upcoming Viper GTS-R, as shown by David at this link:
http://www.scaleauto-slot.com/24-products/cars/144-srt-viper-gts-r1-24-track-test
http://www.scaleauto-slot.com/images/news-products/Viper/TrackTest/Viper_front.jpg
that as well as the also new upcoming porsche 991 is a GREAT news for me :)
Usually scaleuto plastic wheel inserts are incredibly well detailed in plastic.
The car now is temporary stopped in wip, until I can get the wheels. Hope soon.
....and another project is already started..stay tuned... LOL :iceslolan:naughty::naughty:

I would like to do it's first ALMS win. The photos is as it was at Elkhart Lakes Road America when it won it's first ALMS class win last August. I met several fans from New Zealand who came all the way just for this race(ALMS/GRAND AM double header 2013)

and here the gt3.I've started the deal artwork, and it is honestly a very hard job. Think something like the flying lyzard porsches we seen on topics around here.Frank from decaldoc made a very good work with size and dimensions of the car. Really happy the decals fits perfectly to my body, cause it means I was not so mistaken working with milliput and plasticard. Not so easy on such models.
Here we go...this is the first layer of silver bases to be used for the final very colroed schema.Caris black, many decals are white red and pale green. This base is definitely a must working with alps printed decals

eheh, mercy mon amis.
I am really trying to do my best, even if is livery is real complex. It's nearly done right now, and will go on all day to finish it. Started the decalwork to relax from the 2 big military works i did before, and end...in a no stop decal session :D:D....cause I am in that mode right now and dont wanna loose the "ispiration"... u know ;)
nearly done. for sure when complete will make some nicer quality pics. those are taken during pauses with mobile... ;)

was missing in action for some time.In summer we are testing the new olympic nacra 17.Is a very easy to fly toy..just the problem is its attitude to take off. Will be anyway real fun to see in action used by great crew (next olympics, for whom likes this sport).
Carbon fiber allover, new T rudders make it easy to foil. a pure fun.:lol2:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eG0aJ-3soDc/UQepnewHvDI/AAAAAAAARaQ/2Z5GmyqR2Gs/s1600/nacra17miami.jpg
then back home to sweden (midsommar time here..impossible miss it :) so back at work over my cars.
The gt3 is going on. The decalizing was quite hard, not for decaldoc but for the shape of the car and the complexity of the colors. Frank made a real good work. All decals are a little oversized on the edges, so was very good to refill theme with a sharp blade when done.
My problem was due to the black base color of the car. All the light colors must be overlayed on a silver base.means all decals are double.:icon16:..and thiss means...double problems every time.
Dunno if studio 27 decal sheet will be so better than this. I am quite satisfied with the result. Just had some silvering over big decals, even if I apply all over a glossy black finish paint (gunze). In some points as the side near cap filler there are more or less 10 layers of decals one over the other....is the price to pay for a so beautiful and unusual lyvery.
another issue was about the wing. I was nearly oing to scratchbuild also that, then I bought a fujimi bmw z4 and found 2 of theme (so model remains complete anyway). the part is really nicely done.Probaably I will cast it in resin cause is always a mess to find theme in the correct shape and all the ones i've seen around made in resin are all always deformed. Once again shame fujimi dont sell this little sprue separartely.... (as well as for their nice wheels..)

For whom is interested I just noted now the carrera digital is available as complete slotcar on ebay. Price is the usual (quite good one) for carrera cars. I took their breadvan, shape is really welldone and you actually can search it at much lower prices around.
The ferrari 458 gt3 is then available, but consider also I know the new trend of those manifacturer is ALSO to make them as static models and sold under Burago brand. Nothing matters with old glorious Burago die cast company, it is just their old name and logo. actually is the same producer of welly diecast. This time, all new cars to arrive will be PLASTIC body, and the price ridicolous.
I payd the welly porsche 991 (die cast) around 20 euros. with burago box now is listed at 12. I will wait next time then ;)
Also true that from pictures carrera 458gt3 looks really like a toy more than a model. It will be surely a great and easy base to start a project like mine, even if I am lucky cause they didnt made THIS version but the following different one, racing in 2013 and 2014.
My model here is still sleeping in its showcase. It is really good cause the few decal silvering I had before is nearly completely gone now. At today I still miss the rims. Nobody of the fellows claiming to make theme did it at today. No volountee at all by myside to search hardly for the carrera rims only, even if surely available in some ways or from local dealers. Prefer wait a little,no problems.
The rear GT3 wing for this car is arriving to me moulded in resin next week. I will probably sell some little accessories like this one to make life more easy for whom wanna have gt cars in collection, as well as some racing helmets (Jochen u stole my heart with your littel lovely details....even if probably u are not a pretty german girl :)) of different era 70s and 90s in 1/24 scale.
