AEM Short Ram Intake "Whistles"

I recently installed an AEM short ram intake system in my 98 Accord 4-cylinder. I love the sound it makes at around 3500+ RPM :) However, I'm noticing a whistling type sound when the gas pedal is at a certain point no matter what RPM's I'm at. Is this normal? I'm guessing yes because the intake is quickly sucking in more air at that exact point. Thanks!

I have an AEM cold air intake and it whistles also. When I got it put in they told me it was just the cold air being sucked in.

Mine does it too. On an Integra, but same deal. I think it sounds cool. It only did that though after I took the French Horn, (resonator box), out though so yours is probably broke. j/k. :bigthumb:

By the way, welcome to the forums!

I am new here....
I recently installed a short ram intake on my 98 accord 4-cyl and I too get that high-pitched sound when the gas pedal is at a certain point.
does anyone know what exactly causes that sound? I thought it was due to a leak!

i hav a intake like that too. the wistling comes from the air moving past the air sensor tube insde the intake. the only way to stop it is to change the angle of the air so much that the air doesnt flow over the air sensor opening. doin this will juss stop more air flow from goin in. juss turn up the beats and keep your engine in high revs.

Yes, that's normal. Mine did the same but went away after a month or so. Probably cause the filter was new
