ok so i'm pretty sure about buying a crx in a couple months and i'm wanting to spend around 4000.00 ...so i have a few questions for you crx guys

1-do you think it would be better to buy a broke down one and putting a new engine in it or should i just buy a good condition si with lower miles?...to put a new engine in one where i live will run me around 3000.00 and i've heard that you cant make b16's and zc's pass smog in california.

2-i dont race and i have no desire to either but i want something quick and fun to drive, so do you think i could make a stock si quick enough to have some fun in it for around a grand?

3-how many miles should a well taken care of si be able to have on it without having any major problems?

4-i'm also gonna need something reliable to get me to and from work everyday so would modding the engine make it more prone to having engine troubles?

ok and my last question is about room in the drivers seat...i'm 6'2" and so i need something i can be comfortable in so is there any tall guys driving crx's comfortably?

thanks alot in advance for any help you can give

Hello fellow bay area person

I'd recommend finding a si, cause if you ever plan on swapping to anything a si makes wiring a lil easier. You could throw on an exhaust, intake, header and high flo cat and that would be peppyer than stock. Or for a lil more you could swap in a d16z6 SOHC Vtec which would give you a decent boost in HP so it would be a fun daily driver.

Depening on if you find a low mileage or high mileage would be a deciding factor on if you should look for a swap or not.

The only downside to swapping a DX is the MPFI wiring. But its really not that hard.

yea a SOHC vtec would be ok but i think the SI in stock from is a blast to drive not blazing fast but sporty i'd say get a nice SI and wheels tires I/H/E and you'll have a great car thats sporty as well as great on gas and will last forever.
