Progress: Porsche GT-1TheSyndicate 06-22-2003, 08:27 PM http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/297185DSC00741.jpg A very impressive kit by Revell. The detail on the engine is spectacular with all the turbo plumbing separate and all pieces fitting great. The body I got was slightly warped along with the chassis, but those are currently in the dehydrator being formed back to regular shape. Shown are completed engine and rear hatch. YJGWRacing 06-22-2003, 08:33 PM Looks sweet. Can you show some pictures of just the turbos? bah humbug 06-22-2003, 08:47 PM Looks great! I forgot the last time you had a progress thread. z33guy 06-22-2003, 08:57 PM nice detail! I wasnt sure this one was worth it, but it just might be. Vric 06-22-2003, 09:00 PM wow look like tamiya engin is it 1/24 or 1/25 ? if 1/24 it would look nice in my collection lowcrome 06-22-2003, 09:01 PM my body and chassis were messed up to i now have 5 pieces painted:biggrin: fc3sjeff 06-23-2003, 02:30 PM Wow. That engine looks great! BTW, just how badly warped was the chassis on your kit? I purchased the Champion version of the kit several years ago, and the chassis was warped beyond use. I thought that using a heat gun to basically melt it to a flat piece of wood would cure the problem, and it seemed to work, until I took the heat away and watched it re warp as it cooled. Of course, when I ordered a replacement, it was warped even worse than the original... Jeff Deejay27 06-24-2003, 02:37 AM The engine is looking sweet.....can't wait until we see the completed kit. Ghost_9418 06-24-2003, 03:07 AM Didnt know it was that detailed.:bigthumb: Ive been trying to find that kit. deedlit 06-24-2003, 03:27 AM Another masterpiece on it's way :bigthumb: Can't wait to see it done  bigfrit 06-24-2003, 11:25 AM Yep, looks very nice from the early pics, please keep us updated , as this kit is quite interesting me too! Olivier TheSyndicate 06-24-2003, 01:36 PM Valentino 06-24-2003, 02:12 PM :eek2::eek2::eek2: Very clean , AMAZING ..... Sure is. DSM-Mark 06-25-2003, 03:08 PM Looks pretty decent. :bigthumb: lowcrome 06-25-2003, 04:09 PM Originally posted by TheSyndicate http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/770822DSC00748.jpg u have any refrence pics? i notive sum of ur parts r painted differently than in the instructions is urs gonna be white or black? TheSyndicate 06-26-2003, 01:26 AM Honestly I've never tackled a racing car. I'm going by the colors given by the instructions. As for the color, it's gotta be black now that I've already done the rear hatch. TheSyndicate 06-27-2003, 01:07 AM Got the decals put on. Body needs cleaning and crap. I'm starting to get tired of this model  , BUT I shall persist. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/837710DSC00749.jpg appleseed 06-27-2003, 02:17 AM your progress looks great! how's the kit in general? i've seen this at my local hobby shop for close to $16USD and was tempted to purchase it many atimes. however, i always seem to talk myself out of it. you've done excellent work on it! a. TheSyndicate 06-27-2003, 02:20 AM All I can say is you could rebox it in a Tamiya box and nobody would know the difference. Even the wheels are the male adapter style with the tires already put on them. chipanggo 06-27-2003, 03:27 AM nice. Vric 06-27-2003, 11:59 AM Originally posted by TheSyndicate I'm starting to get tired of this model  , BUT I shall persist. ] why ? it look killer for a revell kit ! bah humbug 06-27-2003, 12:01 PM Or a cloned Tamiya kit! As always, great job! Layla's Keeper 06-27-2003, 01:58 PM Looking good, Syndicate. Black is a pain to get a smooth finish out of. Maybe I should finish up my 911 GT1, too. Of course, I scammed a ton of the parts out of the Revell/Dragon kit for a 70's 911 Carrera (engine, brakes) and a 1969 Corvair (transaxle, front & rear suspension). So I'll just use the UT kit. Camber 06-27-2003, 04:22 PM Looks Amazing :bigthumb: fullbloodchop01 06-27-2003, 05:49 PM Originally posted by Camber Looks Amazing :bigthumb: :iagree: just think you should have sanded the itres a little bit to give it the worn look, but hey, who am i to complain:rolleyes: The Lambrusco Kid 07-03-2003, 08:17 PM So that means that if I buy this same kit (revell gt1), I'll get a warped chassis too?   Originally posted by fc3sjeff Wow. To fix it, just set something heavy on it to flatten it and leave it somewhere warm for a few hours. I put mine in a food dehydrator at about 135 degrees. :bigthumb: Gainsbourg 07-04-2003, 07:01 AM This one for sure would pass for a Tamiya model If you didn’t tell it is a Revell one. It’s coming really beautiful. Continue the good work. The Lambrusco Kid 07-04-2003, 07:19 AM Okay, but it's the only crooked part, right? Originally posted by TheSyndicate Good chance of it.
