Making of Mazda Miatakunta 06-22-2003, 01:35 PM Hi! This is an Aoshima's 1/24 kit. I start this last December, try to make completly different style but still modifing the body. chopped the window shield, added over fenders and going to scratchbuild interior. I'm a slow builder so it needs a few more months to finish body modification. just prompt report this time. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/818542mk_1.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/486628mk_2.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/226246mk_3.jpg Blowncivic1320 06-22-2003, 01:54 PM Thats really nice so far...what do u use for your bodywork? z33guy 06-22-2003, 01:55 PM looks like a pretty mean model from just those pics, i cant wait for the finish:bigthumb: Ayala 06-22-2003, 02:17 PM kewl!!! can't wait!!! bigfrit 06-22-2003, 02:21 PM Wow, kunta! you keep amazing me ! that's one hell of a miata in the works! Kunta...you mentioned "scratch building" the interior. How do you go about doing that? Do you cast your own resin parts? Yes, "scratchbuild the interior" is the biggest point of this project. I was thinking about this and wanted to do this for long time. then I chose this Miata as test case. Basically I'll use only styrene sheets and putty. it's going to be a hard work, but I don't know how is it going to be... RyanGiorgio 06-26-2003, 01:34 PM Is it going to be mid-engined? It looks like youve opened up the back for an engine. Looks great. Can't wait to see some more progress. BTW how the hell do yuo guys handle the polyester putty with your fingers? I have Tamiya's polyester putty and I only use it for filling holes...I never knew it could be used for body work.
