New Project...Diablo KoenigLamboNut 06-20-2003, 05:55 AM I started the sanding job on the Diablo...After inspecting all the parts I decided not to use the kits wheels because they're too small and will be replaced with 18's. I'm also going to modify the brake disks and build a separate engine using the Revell kit to display it next to the finished Diablo http://speed.supercars.net/cboardpics/2003-5-20/442959a.jpg http://speed.supercars.net/cboardpics/2003-5-20/442959b.jpg bigfrit 06-20-2003, 06:59 AM I agree the rims look a bit ... ... to me too. Looks like a very nice model! what colour are you going to make it ? And I assume it has got no engine whatsoever , right ? Then why is the back opened ? Olivier Junhao 06-20-2003, 07:23 AM What kit is that and from which company? (I mean the company that produces the kit) LamboNut 06-20-2003, 08:50 AM Originally posted by bigfrit I agree the rims look a bit ... ... to me too. Olivier It does have an engine except it's not too detailed...The car will be painted ether Tamiya Gunmetal or Deep Metallic Blue LamboNut 06-20-2003, 08:51 AM Originally posted by Junhao What kit is that and from which company? (I mean the company that produces the kit) It's a Fujimi 1/24 Diablo Koenig bah humbug 06-20-2003, 11:12 AM Now I know why it lacks detail. (sighs) Fujimi Blowncivic1320 06-20-2003, 11:16 AM u should make it metallic dark purple, someone that lives by me has a real one in that color and it is *insert curse* BEAUTIFUL Lan_evo 06-20-2003, 06:26 PM Nice car hope 2 c somepics soon. Wut rims u plan 2 use??? phase5 06-21-2003, 06:27 AM Originally posted by bah humbug Now I know why it lacks detail. (sighs) Fujimi Just got the Fujimi lamborgini countach 5000s enthusiast kit and what a full detail kit that is can't wait to build it Lambo003 06-23-2003, 03:58 PM Nice kit! I've built a couple of the Fujimi Diablos and have used the Revell kit to source many parts. Mainly the wheels. Revell did a bang up job on 'em. RyanGiorgio 06-23-2003, 06:14 PM Cool model. The rims don't look too bad. streetracing901 06-23-2003, 07:45 PM the rims are alrite:rolleyes: but i looks good mel79 06-25-2003, 11:58 AM I think Fujimi wheels can be made quite nice with some paint & decaling. I painted the centres silver and gave the rims a light wash with thinned black to bring out the rim nuts. I don't know what's the size of Revell wheels, but the diameter in Fujimi rears is 27mm and 25mm in front wheels. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/646976P6250184.jpg All I need now is a new set of body parts to make a complete Diablo... (original body got destroyed with paint stripper:mad: ) -Mikko Lambo003 06-27-2003, 08:28 AM As far as the fujimi engine is concerned, it's pretty much crap right from the box. I added the following to spiff things up a bit. Scratch built throttle linkages and photoetched throttle bodies, fuel lines, wired engine, complete plumbing with p/e clamps, scratch built ducts, custom made decals and other misc. wiring and photoetched details. Even so, it still looks sparse . . . http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/335202eng.jpg CURRENT PROJECT - Fujimi Countach - Click HERE (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&postid=1045942&t=29#post1045942) to see engine pics! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
