Update Pics: Outlaw Street StangYJGWRacing 06-19-2003, 03:05 PM couple pics of a little of the work ive done so far. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/p71963412f1544b1825d6c47ad3ea0862/fbe31e1a.jpg since this is a street car, has to have speakers. As you see the holes for the 6x9's. Cage is only about 30% done, going to be a full 12-14pt cage. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/pc692f53371b81eec5eabec947064f651/fbe31e16.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/pac8349c101e77a8020fe0552a9f49c26/fbe31e10.jpg Cowl hood is made from sheet styrene, .020" thick. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/p1d3487148f67cf4c2433926d7c51c5c8/fbe31e0f.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/padadd769fa222a061606166cf756c062/fbe31e14.jpg motor is from the 01 Lightning kit (5.4l motor). Will have a custom box intake (with the lower half of the intake in the picture), custom turbo setup, with custom FMIC and piping. Now to just find the turbo so i can start putting the motor together. CamaroSSBoy346 06-19-2003, 03:26 PM damn thats a big cowl hood... what is that mustang based on? The Revell '93 Cobra? YJGWRacing 06-19-2003, 03:32 PM yeah. I actually still have the cobra wheels on the tree, in perfect shape. The original cowl i made was even bigger, this one just barely clears the intake im making for it (box upper). I might actually have to drill a little hole in the top of the cowl, to clear the piping from the IC to the TB. minidreams_n_scale 06-19-2003, 06:44 PM man keep me up to date with this project , it looks killer already Later David tc3house 06-19-2003, 10:28 PM Looks awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bigthumb: :spit: supratuner 06-19-2003, 11:12 PM Originally posted by tc3house Looks awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bigthumb: :spit: yeah! YJGWRacing 06-20-2003, 02:38 AM im not using the supercharger setup. Its just going to be a single turbo 5.4l motor. Heres some pics of some more of the motor work. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/pc19b2f2ab032ba714cd1a57a006b064d/fbe20fe5.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/p66b8414b0a6428a213d53388e10498d5/fbe20fe2.jpg (intake was made out of half the original intake, and .020" plastic styrene) http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/pf08c60cce1946f366d77d7ff45f7483b/fbe20fe0.jpg turbo manifold was made using a longtube header i cut down, and bent plastic from the parts tree :) BullittStang 06-20-2003, 01:11 PM Wow....I've always wanted to see the 5.4L OHC engine in a Mustang....that's what I love about scale modeling....just because somebody won't do it in real life doesn't mean you can't do it in scale. YJGWRacing 06-20-2003, 01:20 PM Originally posted by BullittStang Wow....I've always wanted to see the 5.4L OHC engine in a Mustang....that's what I love about scale modeling....just because somebody won't do it in real life doesn't mean you can't do it in scale. actually i know of one foxbody (87 LX Coupe) thats getting a 5.4l motor put into it. Gonna be a nitrous motor though. But there are a couple of SN95 & 99+ mustangs with 5.4 motors. Some more pics of some more work, mostly just the turbo setup, and cage is what ive been working on. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/p7b07f64f857fe11f0ba15e72efefc466/fbe17b5d.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/p63cbd1029ebd53248adb7e7528355352/fbe17b63.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/p7ac59026f085f0ff130782314c551d1a/fbe178ae.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/p4f441d98448117074d1bee5010aa919c/fbe178ab.jpg next work for the motor will be finishing the intake, fuel rails, spark plug wires, custom belt/pulley setup, and wastegate. CamaroSSBoy346 06-20-2003, 02:02 PM DAMN THATS GHETTO! :thefinger where did you get that turbo? Midnight Racer 06-20-2003, 02:03 PM Can't wait to see it done. YJGWRacing 06-20-2003, 02:21 PM Originally posted by CamaroSSBoy346 DAMN THATS GHETTO! :thefinger where did you get that turbo? whats funny is, i decided to go through my misc junk boxes, and found two different turbos, one a little smaller then the other, so decided to put em both together, to actually look like a real turbo. The worst part about mounting it, was thats the only place i could put it, so it would fit under the hood, and it looks like i might have clearance problem for the lower pulley with the other headers & piping being run to the turbo. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/pa4c600de57c466f4ae0d4ba3148596d2/fbe1604b.jpg Honoturtle 06-20-2003, 02:25 PM Nice scratch building here! Awesome 5.4 93 Mustang here my friend! I hope you get to fit the turbo in alright, I had big fitment problems with my Civintegra. Blowncivic1320 06-20-2003, 05:04 PM You should mount the turbo in the front so it goes thru the front of the car wen the nose is on...like the drag cars do stump 06-20-2003, 05:18 PM Mate, that is awesome:22yikes: Love the work your doing here, nice job on the cage, motor will look pretty sic when finished:devil: Great work on the turbo set-up... Cant wait to see finished product cheers stump:aus: YJGWRacing 06-20-2003, 05:30 PM Originally posted by Blowncivic1320 You should mount the turbo in the front so it goes thru the front of the car wen the nose is on...like the drag cars do i thought about that, but there would be no place for the radiator. Remember, im building this as a street car (will have a system, amp, 18's or 20's (dont know what size they are?), etc.) I did change around the turbo setup though...here is the final placement for the turbo.. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/pc3d91059246287e7f61c219d2d9977b8/fbe11931.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/pdb8e8351988102e24306d69f18555216/fbe1192f.jpg (you can see how close the crank pulley is to the piping) http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/p2416e2fa31f5831469f58785a006337e/fbe1192c.jpg YJGWRacing 06-21-2003, 05:33 PM some more update pics. This is pretty much how the stance is going to be. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/pff3a51318274f09b8da2d93a5d71c978/fbdf7def.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/p6fa46c02bca0f437d8689c086434ad39/fbdf7de9.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/p78af2580fad21f82ea5b110f2993acd2/fbdf7deb.jpg (Brembo Cross Drilled/Slotted Rotors, which will have "stainless" break lines) http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid66/p6179e5216db3e43381f1bc84b0ec45df/fbdf7de8.jpg still need to do some work on the body, and some more work on the cowl hood. Going to be painting the car orange as well. Sidewinder-03 06-21-2003, 05:39 PM MMMMMMMMMMMM!!!! Sweeeeeeeeet................like candy.:licka: YJGWRacing 06-21-2003, 05:48 PM thanks. This is the first model ive built in over a year, and hoping it comes out real nice (which IMO it already is). After this, there will be a matching mustang, but a 94+ mustang with a twin turbo 302, and setup for drag (slicks & skinnys, custom 4link suspension, etc.) supratuner 06-21-2003, 07:08 PM looking good, i love it! i love that turbo too! max_speed 06-22-2003, 06:51 PM Wow really nice! Keep us updated Dave Blowncivic1320 06-22-2003, 07:55 PM the turbo looks better now, not in the middle of nowhere...great job so far by the way i love those wheels i want them soooo bad Integra14 06-22-2003, 08:08 PM looks sweet but what rims r those theyre awsome! YJGWRacing 06-22-2003, 08:32 PM i dont know what wheels they are, or what kit they are from. All i know, is its from some Curbside kit that i bought a long time ago. Slipknot 06-22-2003, 10:21 PM :22yikes: awesome Slipknot 06-22-2003, 10:23 PM Love those rim but I think they would look better on something diffrent like a lower truck! but thats just me... YJGWRacing 06-23-2003, 12:39 AM Originally posted by Slipknot Love those rim but I think they would look better on something diffrent like a lower truck! but thats just me... i had them on a Chevy truck (some snaptite kit) and it looked sweet. But i decided to put skinnys & slicks on it, so i had these wheels laying around. If i had a nicer set of wheels, id use them, but now i like the look of the car with these wheels, so im gonna keep them. Just making it like a nice street car, with some nice size wheels. Like a friend of mine w/ supercharged 01 cobra w/ 18's (478rwhp) and a friend with a Buick T-type on 20's (500+rwhp) YJGWRacing 06-26-2003, 04:49 PM Here are some more updated pics. Started painting the body. This is 2 coats right here, no clear coat. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid67/p17b17d5a8ef13583ba2584c642b4d547/fbd4c93b.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid67/pfcb57826c975d472d7d9fff31fe859a5/fbd4c939.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid67/p39e1a83bc05baaefed251e615fd0e1e9/fbd4c938.jpg Color is: Dupli-Kolor "Hot Rod Green". Blowncivic1320 06-26-2003, 05:53 PM Thats a really cool color, Cant wait to see it assembled now are you gonna do some accents of that color on the engine and interior? YJGWRacing 06-26-2003, 06:20 PM Originally posted by Blowncivic1320 Thats a really cool color, Cant wait to see it assembled now are you gonna do some accents of that color on the engine and interior? the parts that will be the same color are: Valve Covors Cage Frame Brake Calipers Trim around the subs & 6x9's The only thing i now regret doing, is painting the body, because i need to drill two holes in the firewall, to run the piping from the throttle body to the intercooler, but hopefully drilling the holes wont chip the paint. YJGWRacing 06-26-2003, 09:23 PM Here are some updated pics of the interior. Speakers still need to be painted, and im probably gonna end up putting "leather" material down in the back and on the floor in the front. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid67/pa96a7b78685645d5de1e720dfbac443b/fbd463fe.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid67/p2059fafa53e49eb53db9e2dceacc3249/fbd463fc.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid67/p81489792339d8b4ec9d42fe640ebd92c/fbd463fb.jpg Still need to put the 6x9's in, the Amp, Guages, and shifter w/ linkage. bah humbug 06-26-2003, 09:26 PM Very good! fullbloodchop01 06-26-2003, 09:30 PM i like the color, just it looks like the paint is on too thick and seems like some of the detail is gone, but it just might be the pics  SuperStreet reader 06-26-2003, 09:32 PM :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2::eek2: :eek2:    :iceslolan Purpura Delujo 06-26-2003, 09:38 PM What a weapon! Never seen a Mustang model look that good! You should get some chrome paint to do those wheels in, make them look like real dubs! Thats the only suggestion I can say about it. Hope it's finished soon. CamaroSSBoy346 06-26-2003, 09:42 PM paint does look a little thick... YJGWRacing 06-26-2003, 11:06 PM No, the paint isnt thick... when i sanded down the body after primering, I took the lines out. Maybe its just me, but i like the look of the body being real sleek, like a door slammer, so it not having the body lines and cracks for the doors, really doesnt bother me. Remember, always supose to build a model to YOUR likings ;) YJGWRacing 06-26-2003, 11:11 PM Originally posted by Mopar Muscle Maniac What a weapon! Never seen a Mustang model look that good! I would definetely do that, if i had the paint, or knew where i could get the paint. I was thinking about having them send out to be chromed. You have any pics of things painted in the chrome paint i could check out? And the name of it? Thanks BaNe 06-27-2003, 12:02 AM thats not orange! :eek7: looks great! YJGWRacing 06-27-2003, 12:10 AM Originally posted by BaNe thats not orange! :eek7: looks great! :( I know. I wanted to paint it orange, but when i went to Discount, they didnt have any orange, and didnt feel like driving to Pep Boys  So i got the green. BUT... my TT 94-95 Mustang will be orange, with the came kind of hood, black, and setup for drag :iceslolan Purpura Delujo 06-27-2003, 12:33 AM Originally posted by YJGWRacing I would definetely do that, if i had the paint, or knew where i could get the paint. Thanks You should be able to pick up some Chrome spraypaint in a hardware, I don't know if you can in the states but you can here. I don't have any pictures of things sprayed with chrome, I don't know the name of the brands you got over there either, just check around. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
