lookin to buy a rwd roadster/coupejaxle 06-18-2003, 09:39 AM Hey all, i know this forum isn't for talking about cars exactly, but i want this post to reach to as many different car enthusiasts as possible. So on to the point... I want ideas for a fun roadster (rwd) to buy. I already know of the 240sx, Miata, and rx7. YogsVR4 06-18-2003, 09:49 AM New cars also include S2000 Audi TT BMW Z4 Mercedes SLK among many more. TheNotoriousMogg 06-18-2003, 10:37 AM get a TT :D jaxle 06-18-2003, 11:46 AM ummm, i dont have that kinda money :/ i was thinking 3-5grand range. WESTCOTT 06-18-2003, 12:06 PM For a simple roadster go to Home Depot buy a chainsaw for $200, and cut the roof off your civic. Now there is a convertible w/ style.:icon16: YogsVR4 06-18-2003, 12:14 PM You could have well mentioned your budget before asking about the car. A well used Miata is probably your only choice for a decent running car. numbware 06-18-2003, 02:19 PM Originally posted by WESTCOTT For a simple roadster go to Home Depot buy a chainsaw for $200, and cut the roof off your civic. TatII 06-20-2003, 11:40 PM there are no 180's in the states. they are all called 240's. the 240's came in two different body styles. the coupe and the hatchback ( which is mistaken to be a 180 by some ) the coupe weights less, and if you got the green, you can get rid of that pop up headlight for a geniune S13 projector headlight unit and turn it into a real S13 silvia. the coupes also got nicer interiors such as heads up display (showing a projection of the speed on your windshield) , digital speedometer, and a 7 grand redline. nice~!! but all these options only applies to the 91-93 models only. lancer2k2 06-21-2003, 02:29 AM my 89 has all of those things u mentioned Jimster 06-21-2003, 03:02 AM Well the 240SX if you want to keep the car for future mods is the way to go- but they aren't the greatest stock- an MR2 and Miata are also good buys TatII 06-21-2003, 09:06 AM Originally posted by Jimster Well the 240SX if you want to keep the car for future mods is the way to go- but they aren't the greatest stock- an MR2 and Miata are also good buys why do you say that? a miata can be made to be pretty insane for less money then a 240. you can turbo it for less money, and the car weights light as hell, and the non turbo engine already has a oil return port for a turbo. so installin one is a breeze. ac427cpe 06-21-2003, 12:35 PM at one of the autoX races here, someone was selling a later year, first gen. miata, set up for autoX, lightened, turbocharged... for like 6500. so, they do exist for not too much. good luck findin one tho jaxle 06-21-2003, 03:26 PM Originally posted by TatII there are no 180's in the states. they are all called 240's. the 240's came in two different body styles. the coupe and the hatchback ( which is mistaken to be a 180 by some ) the coupe weights less, and if you got the green, you can get rid of that pop up headlight for a geniune S13 projector headlight unit and turn it into a real S13 silvia. the coupes also got nicer interiors such as heads up display (showing a projection of the speed on your windshield) , digital speedometer, and a 7 grand redline. nice~!! but all these options only applies to the 91-93 models only. I saw what i thot was a 240 on the street the other day but it was badged as a 180sx...sum rich ass lookin kid was drivin it and his body kit was put on terribly...i must be mistaken tho b/c the 180sx from japan the driver side would be on the right...right? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
