I've been on the prowl for a new Turbo Kit, ever since I found out RevHard won't be making a kit for 02' Civic Ex's. I came across Drag Turbo Kits, and they seem like a pretty sweet package despite the fact that they are a couple hundred more than most kits.($3995). Do any of you guys have any opinions/info/rants/facts about this kit? I'd really apreciate the input.

"The kits do come complete with everything you need to turbo charge your car and all necessary components are included."

"If installed properly most kits will add easily and additional 100+ HP to the wheels as measured and proven on a DynoJet Dyno meter. For example the 2000 Acura GSR kit on a stock motor will produce around 270-275Hp to the wheels at around 7-8 PSI of Boost."

How much boost can this kit handle?
"Most kits are designed to run between 6-12 PSI of boost on a stock engine; however, all kits are capable of supporting up to 450hp and 25 psi of boost provided you have the proper fuel management and a properly built motor."

Looks pretty good. If they are the only ones that are going to make a kit for your car than I guess you should get it. Looks like it makes good HP gains.

Never heard that...
Could be true though, have any proof? A website that says they are rebuilt turbos?

DRAG makes their own kits.
REVHARD is a different company.
GREDDY is another turbo company
MAXREV
BALLISTIC
APEXI

I can't think of any more right now but most companys are pretty much by themselves. They are all pretty good, they all have their ups and downs.

Check to see if you can get this kit in ebay, i saw it some day ago, and it usually cheaper, they use turbonetics turbo charger, so i guess they are pretty much reliable cuz i only heard good things about turbochargers from turbonetics...but check it out though. also check fmax turbo kits http://www.turbokits.com and email those guys, ask them if they have one for your car, they currently have a special on the site $400 off the regular price...

y'all oughta buy the turbos we take off toyotas, they put out 12-15psi, and we put 20-25 psi units in their places, put a post on Tercel Online (http://TercelOnline.com) for low mileage units, the cutouts we buy are less than 50,000 miles usually, and you can always have them rebuilt.

Well you can find revhard kits, if you look, cheaper than DRAG so why bother with DRAG. Revhard is WAY better.

why are they better?

Better technology, more research. Better HP gains, better quality.

why?

Revhard researches to give you better power gains. DRAG just tries to give you a cheap turbo kit.

Drag manifolds crack (have seen this quite often). Max-Rev manifolds don't and Max-Rev kits come with a lifetime warranty on manifold and downpipe.

well i dont believe that over 100hp to the wheels bs. those companies pump up the actual gains so much its hard to tell if its true or not. but that is definitely not true. there is no way that kit on your car would produce over 100 extra hp at the wheels and still make more then a few dyno runs without blowing. id put money on that.

hey since we have so many knowlegable (sp) people here mind if i ask a few questions? ok so if i get a turbo what kind of gas should i get? and how often should i get tune ups? is this enough for a daily driver

94 civic ex coupe w 98 acura ls engine (b18b)

-rev hard turbo kit
-spark plugs
-greddy oil cooler
-greddy cat back exhaust
-apexi type r boost contoller
-apex turbo timer
-fluidyne radiator
-(do i need injectors?)

should this last me at 7-9psi for 20,000-25,000 miles a year????? thanks for your opinion

also what kind of hp/quarter mile times should i expect??

if you keep your boost that low and dont get too happy with it it will last you a long time. you can only use the highest octane pump gas available. im in cali so its 91 here which is crap but anyways. and also tune ups. i dont like people referring to repairs as tune ups. what does tune up refer to? what does it include? basically when you do that setup just keep up with the oil changes, filter changes, coolant, and everything else just like you would if you wanted your engine to run at its best. im not positive on your 1/4 times but it should be in the 13's.

Tune up is in the ignition. Spark plugs, check coil, wires, cap+rotor, etc. Oh and air filter is sometimes included but not always. Oil change is usually not included, therefore you have to say you need a tune up and oil change. Changing the oil filter usually does go along with oil change though.

lower compression pistons, turbo timer, and constant checkup of your car will make sure everything last. turbo timer is a simple device that lets your car idle for a few minute after you take the key out. why? after driving around your turbo need to cool down. When you shut the car off the oil pump stops pumping to your turbo. And for all you automatics out there you might want to invest in something like a msd btm. Unlike manual transmissions automatic's do not have control of there rpm. Over reving your stock internal will wear down things alot faster. quick fix will be to buy a rev control ,forged rods, or atleast get it peen shot and polish. MSD also have a 6 BTM which have a rev control, retard timing conrol, and gives a high discharge for preventing dentonation. don't try to cut coners whenyou invest so much into your engine. if your gonna do it. do it right.:icon16:
