Hey guys, I heard something a while ago and I was thinking...

Well I heard that if you put those 3" catback exhausts on your car you lose horsepower, because of back pressure and what-not.

Is this true? I definately don't want to lose horsepower...
I know engines have to be balanced, so would it still be balanced if u had a huge intake and huge exhaust?

why would you want a 3"exaust on a n\a car yes you will loose power beacsuer of wat u said using backpressure, get 2 1\2" piping i dont think putting a big intake will balance out the car..

ahh no you will def gain hp, the stock piping sucks. the freer the air is flowing in and out of the car, the more hp you will have. a full cai and cae along with a header will rock major ass.

they make catbacks for n/a, and some for turbo. you have to research to make sure you are getting the right one... some are ONLY for turbo

yer the 3" one on a NA MIGHT give u 5hp.... but this is at peake or after and you WILL loose some low end power...especially torque...

just get the smaller sized ones, 60mm... Apexi makes the N1 in 60mm I believe... that would be a very good improvement.

yes, don't get an 80mm, those are only for turbos.

get 60mm or close to it. the hks i have coming in the mail is 65mm.

another thing to keep in mind: if you buy an exhaust from Pep Boys or other such cheap-o palace, you probably will end up losing hp since those things are just made for looks and for sound.
