Sr20det Auto?musicsurfman 06-12-2003, 04:43 PM ANY PLACE TO GET A SR20DET AUTOMATIC? I DON'T WANT TO DROP THE CASH FOR A CONVERSION PLUS AN AUTO WITH TUNING WILL BE ON-PAR OR OUT PERFORM A MANUAL. SR20DETpower 06-12-2003, 05:22 PM is this the same dude that wanted a 600hp KA24E with supercharger and Turbocharger on it but doesn't want to drop the cash on a SR manual swap aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHAHA :biggrin2: :loser: musicsurfman 06-12-2003, 05:26 PM I HAVE 2 240SX AUTOMATICS NOW AND I AM GOING TO BUILD UP MY KA24E (I SAID MAYBE A SUPERCHARGER), PLUS THE OTHER I WANT TO SWAP THE SR20 TO SEE IF THERE IS A TUNING DIFFERENCE AND POWER OUTPUT WITH THE SAME KIND OF CASH OUTPUT. SR20DETpower 06-12-2003, 05:27 PM uhhhhhhh *edit* :slap: mynismo 06-12-2003, 06:56 PM just call up heavy throttle and tell them you want one. sr20's are easy to find... if you have the $$ Suislide 06-12-2003, 07:41 PM what's with the all-caps man? turn it off if you can, it's annoying as hell. why pray tell do you want an automatic over a manual? no matter how tuned it is, it will still always be slower then the same engine with a manual. TatII 06-12-2003, 08:33 PM stock automatics suck major balls. although you can tune it to out shift a manuel, ( shift kit, higher stall speed torque converter) but thats only on the straight line, if you were road racing, you would be left for dead, plus heres another food for thought, a auto only has 4 forward gears, that means that the gearing is a good amount taller then a 5 speed manuel. so therefore your engine wouldn't pull as hard anyways because the damn gears are soo long. ghostchild316 06-12-2003, 08:48 PM Also automatic is not as fun to drive as a manual. Whats the point of having a sports car if it's automatic? J SPEC SilEighty 06-12-2003, 08:48 PM most of the big companies can get you an auto sr if you really want one.... but why? musicsurfman 06-13-2003, 09:06 AM I LIVE IN ARIZONA, ALL THERE IS IS LONG, STRAIGHT ROADS. ALTHOUGH THERE ARE WINDY MOUNTAIN PASSES AND CURVY FREEWAYS BUT FOR THE MOST PARTS ITS STRIP AND LIGHT TO LIGHT DRAGS. OH THE FOUR GEAR THING ITS CALLED A CLOSE RATIO GEAR SET WITH A TALL FINAL. MAJOR POWER! CAPS ISSUE, I AM AT WORK IT HAS TO BE ON SORRY! SPORTS CARS ARE MEANT TO BE DRIVEN THE WAY THE DRIVER NEEDS IT TO BE, FOR ME ITS AN AUTOMATIC FOR MY DRAG NEEDS. mynismo 06-13-2003, 10:48 AM if you're going dragging and going to max out the engine auto's are they way to go... much more consistent times you know people that all the draggers have autos... musicsurfman 06-13-2003, 10:59 AM SOMEONE REALISES MY POINT. ITS ALL I WANT IS TO GO STRIAGHT REALLY FAST! I'LL HAVE MY OTHER AS TRACK CAR, I'VE DECIDED TO CONVERT IT TO MANUAL. THAT WILL BE MY SR20. THE AUTO SR'S ARE TO EXPENSIVE. THEY QUOTED $3200. mynismo 06-13-2003, 11:01 AM because they are more rare.... and they know the only people that will buy them are draggers. 3200 still isnt that bad... for a good clip thats just about what they cost. musicsurfman 06-13-2003, 11:22 AM I CAN GET CLIPS COMPLETE UNDER 30K MILES FOR $1200 INCLUDING DRIVESHAFT AND LSD BUT ITS MANUAL ONLY. I WORK AT A SHOP SO THE INSTALL IS A CASE OF BEER. WE HAVE ACCESS TO A FREE DYNO. AT 3200 FOR A BARE CLIP ITS TOO EXPENSIVE.
