Vacuum Reservoir Check Valve Difference

A few months back my van started only blowing out of the defrost vents. I've pretty much learned as much as I can from this site and others on fixing this vacuum leak. Now on the vacuum reservoir the hoses that connect there are connected via a check valve. That is this picture Check Valve 19A563-A or YG-193.JPG (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/attachment.php?attachmentid=49874&stc=1&d=1379958384)

I contacted ford and ordered the part for my van (02 Ford Windstar LX) and received this valve check valve new.jpg (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/attachment.php?attachmentid=49875&stc=1&d=1379958384)

Obviously both parts look different, but I'm not sure if they do the same thing. Ford no longer is stocking the older looking valve but only the newer looking one. I haven't yet tried attaching the new valve yet, but was just wondering if anyone has any insight as to what I should do, differences between the valve's etc... Any info is much appreciated. thanks.
