Where to add power head? Can only cram so much into the ciggy lighter

I've started adding some powered mods to my 94 civic coupe. So far I've added lights for the trunk, bypassing the worst problem of the civic -- no trunk light.

I'm about to add permanent power for a GPS, plus my PC. I bought a cheap power head at GI Joe's (they sell the branded "Fast n' Furious" taillights if that tells you how cheap,) but the power head just hooks into the cigarette ligther, which is OK, but for two problems:
- The cig lighter is now useless as an in-car power head, and
- The cig lighter powers off when the ignition is off.

Does anyone know if there are power heads, conduits, or anything else in the passenger cabin that I can get a 12-volt hookup from? Preferably unswitched?

My assumption is that I may have to cut wires that head to the main fuse box ... but those engineers at Honda pre pretty smart, so maybe there's a couple of power jacks that I don't know about?

well the best way i see it is run you a hot and a negative wire from the battery and install a toggle switch and that would be the best way seeing how you dont want it all to cut off when you cut the car off but that is just my suggestion

yes, this is a good way to do it. Hot wire from bat to inline fuse to switch to device. Ground somewhere hidden dont run it back to the battery to ground. Just remember to turn the switch off when you leave your car, learned this lesson the hard way.
