I 'll be adding some detailing from t2m,top studio and crazy modeler. Please suggestions for the wip and the build itself are more than welcome so here we go...

Thanks everyone!
John, the brakes are from crazy modeler, part# EP0024.

Riggers, for the engine I used .6mm hex bolt for oil pan. engine covers are .7mm hex and .9mm hex with flange. The .9mm are a bit too big but that was I had available at the time. There are some PE ones also from T2M.

Sure did man, completely agree with you, there are some outstanding paint jobs here but his busa paint job must be the benchmark. I wish I could get some zero paints myself but they are not easily available to me. Even if I did, that is a masters work I don't think I can achieve. Perhaps I will try experimenting with locally available 2k clear at least. John, I really appreciate your suggestions and thanks for following the wip.

Rick - I'm with you regarding the zero paints - I don't suppose you can get them there in Puerto Rico any easier than those of us in the USA. I have a small collection of Zero paints and 2K clear that I purchased before Hiroboy stopped shipping them over here. I treasure them like gold - lol I was sent a link to "spotmodel" which I believe is in Spain. Sadly they charge more than Hiroboy and have extremely expensive shipping as well. Urethane 2K clear is urethane 2K clear - it's all the same - you should be able to get it from auto paint shops where you live - if you have access to PPG paints, I recommend them and their 2K clear called Delthane and the urethane basecoat/clearcoat system called Deltron (DBU) - I used that PPG line to paint the bodywork of my superbike back in 94-98 whan I was racing in the AMA superbike series here in the USA.
your Busa build is really detailed and clean.

Project update. First, John sorry for the late response and thanks for the paints advise. I managed to get the paint codes to a local R+M (BASF) dealer paint shop and got 4 ounces each of the base color, candy top and black for $40 bucks. I also got 1 pint of Limco 4100 urethane clear for $24. You can see how it came out below.

Here I decided to alclad chrome the fork shaft instead of using the provided sticker.

What Alclad did you paint the fork legs? Looks really good...

Oh my goodness..!!! It's like going back in time and seeing mine but it's blue not red. Absolutely outstanding paint work. It brought back fond memories from when I built mine and I applied the basecoat which looked like nothing, dull, lifeless even. But then I hit it with that Candy top and BOOM...!!!! The colour just jumped out at me and 'popped' like nothing I'd ever seen before, well until now that is. Looks fantastic, it's gonna be a real stunner when finished

Riggers, thanks for your kind words. Actually clear coat is polished down a bit and it is as shiny as it can be, just me and my camera suck at highlighting the shine effect. Also these pics where taken at night under my bench light. I hope to get better outdoor pics for the completed models section post. As for the the forks paint, the chrome is alclad, the shock part is MM steel metalizer mix with metalizer sealer sprayed together over black, caliper bracket is alclad dull aluminum sprayed over gloss black.

Steve, Thanks for your words and for checking my build. I feel honored coming from who I think has one of the best if not the best Busa build out there. You raised the bar very high, that red/black Busa its the benchmark I just try to follow. You are so right about that candy color. Everything came to life when I sprayed that candy. Thanks again.

Thanks John. The recommended mix ratio is 4-1-1 (clear:hardener:reducer). I mixed mine 4-1-2 and it sprayed great using a Paasche Talon with a .66mm nozzle and fan aircap at 18 psi.
