Sometimes, when a kit part is molded in black, and I prime it and paint it semi-gloss black, I think, "Why am I wasting time and paint?"

Sometimes, I don't put any detail on the bottom of the car, and just paint everything flat black.

I really don't care if my model is 100% like the real thing.

I have never thought of that. Maybe we just want to make it look more shiny and glossy.:screwy:

Quilty of both

I know I have a lot of them, for starters, I have been known to use tape instead of glue for installing and attaching windows in place

I frequently don't detail the chassis of various curbside builds.
I prime parts that don't need it sometimes.

I remove parts of the sprue and say that it's now started so that I don't get the urge to sell the kit instead.

If I could just have back all the time I've spent crawling face-down on the floor looking for what I dropped, I'd have finished 3x as many models by now... :icon16:

I'm starting to avoid supercars that are too CF intensive. I sold off my Carrera GT and Enzo because of this (even though I had Scale Motorsport templates).

*On that note, the aftermarket companies need to produce COMPLETE & ACCURATE (yeah, you, Scale Motorsports) templates for all these new CF intensive cars.

I never prime parts other then body

I dont worry to much about painting areas of the kit that wont be seen, you know like, the insides of the body, top side of the chassis, underneath the seats, stuff like that, why waste paint .

I like to sit on the floor with my builds and go vroom! vroom ! with them lol

I too have often thought about blowing up some of my builds

I will never be a collector, I will just have more kits then I have time to build

Sometimes, I get all geared up to build work on a model, and spend all my free time looking at reference or AF, and nothing gets built.

Sometimes, I get some extra money by working on a friend's car or from overtime at work, and I don't tell my wife about it so I can buy model car stuffs.

Sometimes, my friends invite me to a really amazing party or something, and I say, "Nah, I got this real important thing to do," and the important thing is gluing pieces of plastic together.

I regularly search Ebay for model parts I don't really need.
I really think I will build them all.

I'd rather restore an old builtup than start a fresh, sealed kit.

when i get lazy to polish a paintjob, i just paint it in matte.

i'm guilty also of spraying the underside and all the related parts in just one color (usually semi-gloss black) when i feel lazy. :)

I have a fascination for Model Factory Hiro kit even through I don't have the money to have them all and I have yet to build one. (5 in my stack...)

Sometimes I download hundreds of photos of a car, and spend months watching on ebay for just the right model at just the right price. I buy it.

But as soon as it arrives, I put it on the shelf, and start dreaming/researching about another car...

I sold the majority of my collection a few years ago only to buy a good portion of the same kits back. Wheels especially.
I have more wheel sets than I have projects to put them on. :disappoin

I have a decal fetish, Anyone else have this problem?? You know, you have the kit and the aftermarket decals but it has been a few years sitting in the closet so when the decal set is re-released because the kit has been re-released you buy another set of decals because the other set is old and you are not sure if it will be any good in ten years when you might get around to building the kit. Or you think, "I should get a spare set of decals just in case",,,,, I have spare sets of decals for spare sets of decals if that makes any since. :jerking::jerking:

Daydreaming and texting other builders about it. But with same results

xzibit's meme would definitely be happy with you :)

i also confess to using 1000, 1500, 2000 grit then straight to rubbing compound and wax when finishing up paintjobs. that usually ends up with raised/hard edges having sanded off paint (fortunately, i've so far had this only with black).

and back then when i had this lanevo obsession, i snapped up a ton of fujimi's lanevo7 kits - i'd complain about how they may have a racecar exterior (ex: advan piaa lanevo7) but have a street-spec suspension, floorpan and cockpit, and yet still buy another one once i'm done building it, then complain about it again ("what?! same parts, just different plastic, different rims and decals?")... fortunately for me the local hobby shops nearby didn't buy more of them kits and i was only buying kits online back then for old macross kits (which i ended up selling all of them except 3 small kits since i didn't have time to build them)
