hi all,
first thread for me so hello!
ive been a long time looker so thought id jump on board finally.

my question here is regarding some tips or maybe a link for tutorials for some info on weathering techniques and general detailing of paintwork on models.
ive done a search but im not finding what i want.
looking to up the detail of the paintwork of things like radiators...
i saw some great work on this thread
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=1090474
i really liked the underbody detailing.....
one question, what is the term 'wash' mean ? and how is it done?
is that to bring out more fine detail ??

thanks in advance.

Washing something just means using very thinned paint, ink, or coloring on something so that capillary action pulls it in the little nooks and crannies to give the appearance of shadows and additional depth.
