Hey everyone new here..

I have just become the owner of a 2005 Altima with very low mileage.
It's only been maintained by the Nissan dealership I have the receipts..

The oil has only been changed 6 times in the past 8 years, the last time being last month. The tires once and some recall of a computer chip..

My question is there some type of preventive maintence I should take as a precaution due to the cars age and being so lightly driven..

I do plan to take it to the dealer but I'm just asking a first opinion.
I'm not to mecanicly inclined and don't want to get ripped off to much.

Thanks

I have a 2005 3.5L Altima w/70,000mi. It is a great little car. Be sure to change your A/C cabin filter, it has probably never been changed and get the A/C checked. Otherwise, oil changes and wiper blades should be regularly changed. You may want to get the spark plugs changed and have your belts and hoses changed, just because they are 10yrs old. Usually water pumps last 80,000 miles, or 10yrs, so I'd get that changed. Just keep an eye on the water temp if you can't afford it right now. I believe in preventative maint, so I'm not broken down on some highway somewhere. You might want to get the transmission tuned up, oil and filter replaced. I do all this myself, so it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Sounds like you got a cream puff, hope you did. W
