1st a question: my '99 k1500 is the older body style (like the 98-older) can I still discuss it in this forum since technically it is the same as those trucks?
Anyway my 99 LS is sometimes slow to turn over. It always starts but sometimes you have to hold the key over for a bit longer (say maybe 3-4 seconds). Most of the time it fires right up, like I said, it's just sometimes you have to hold the key a bit longer before it starts. Is this a sign of something going out?

If the crank time takes longer at times check the fuel pressure. also replace the fuel filter . use a pressure gauge key on engine off 350 CU eng is 62-65 psi. if the pressure is 55psi it will start run but take more cranking on start. below that it will not run or start .
If the pressure test indicates that the fuel pump is cooked replace the fuel pump relay as well and the fuel filter. use the ac delco/delphi pumps. do not use an air tex.
solder and heat shrink the new connector if required for the pump.
