Swapping a manual for an automatic is not as simple as it may appear. Your car's computer is programmed for manual transmission, an automatic needs the brake interlock, the shifter won't be right, and that's just a few issues. Why not just trade cars for one with automatic?

i wouldnt worry about the brake interlock its a PITA anyway. Common sense is you apply the brake BEFORE shifting out of Park anyway so its rather pointless. To convert expect to spend over a grand for the auto transmission alone. you would also need to buy a Automatic Shift assembly. You would need to also get a Automatic Shift cable (which may or may not be hard to find) any transmission shop or mechanic should beable to do the swap. Best best is to ASK a mechanic if it is even doable and then how you would go about doing it expect it to cost around 2 grand. As far as the clutch pedal that can be removed. The Lanos has the same sized brake pedal regardless of manual or auto maybe have the old clutch pedal rigged as another brake pedal so u can have a "Wider" pedal?
