2003 Accord, transmission or clutch? Please help

Dear all,
I have a 2003 Honda Accord EX coupe AT. Once in a while, while running in "D", it acted as if it was in neutral. I hit the gas pedal; it did not run. All I had to do was to take my foot off the pedal and wail for a few seconds. Then I hit the gas again and it run fine.
The CEL did not show any code in the transmission.
Any idea of what happened and what should be done would be appreciated.
