Engine-swap in the Camaro

Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to swap the engine in a fifth generation Camaro with a less powerful one? Preferably an engine with 100-150 hp.

And yes! I know this sounds stupid, but I would really appreciate a good answer! :)

Anything is possible. I'm assuming you are looking to foil the VAT (or whatever tax there is on vehicles) a little by putting a lower powered engine in the car? I don't remember exactly, but I believe you all have to pay more based on the hp rating on the vehicle. If true, that really sucks, btw. Here in the states, most of us, if we want to put a different engine in a car, you have to have an engine in the car which is the same age or newer than the car itself. If you have the same regulations there in England, you'll probably run into an issue finding an engine which will work in the car with that little of output. Even the GM 4-cylinder engines are running more than that (I mean, I guess you could find one out of an Aveo). You would find if you actually did this, though, you are not going to have a car which will move very well. You are talking a 4000+lb car with only 100-150hp? Talk about a sheep in wolf's clothing.

It is definitely possible, but like the previous poster said, the vehicle will be relatively slow if you place an engine with 140-150 horsepower in it.
