I'm thinkin bout purchasing a 240sx with sr20det and around 400hp with major mods etc. The one problem (besides it being a 92) is that it's an automatic. Does anyone know what it would take to revert to the 5-speed manual in money and time?

If you cant go through with a tranny swap, this SR powered car may not be the best for you...

i kno i can do it.. i just want a ballpark estimate of what it would cost because i have no idea

if you plan on buying an SR20DET to swap into your car, it'll usually come with it's own 5-speed transmission that will be installed into the car with the engine, so you don't really have to worry about swapping before-hand.:)

or did you mean that the car ALREADY has the SR20DET and it's an automatic? if that's the case...source an SR20DET 5-speed (price varies depending on age, condition, mileage etc.), and either try to swap it in yourself (MAKE SURE YOU 100% KNOW HOW TO) or just get a garage to do it for you if you're not confident of your abilities.
