How the heck do you get this thing off? I've posted before but I mentioned the Steering column motion sensor but that's not what it is. It's the SIR ASM COIL. I replaced my steering wheel with a custom steering wheel and now this thing keeps the steering wheel stiff because these adapters for the custom steering wheel don't work with airbag equipped vehicles. What I currently did because I no longer need my airbag was I disconnected the airbag wires underneath the dash that clipped on with a yellow clip like most other wires are and then I clipped them where they entered the SIR ASM COIL so it would rotate freely but those plastic stops also gave me trouble so I broke them off and now the steering wheel rotates smoothly as the coil moves with it but I fear that there is something I overlooked with this part and I'm nervous about it. Is there anything else connected to this SIR ASM COIL besides the airbag wires? If so what do I do?

First Guess: Anybody who gives you advice on disabling the air bag, stands a chance of being called into court when you get killed in a collision.
I would not accept liability for any advice given in this situation.
Oh, I don't blame you. I think "air bags" are a liberal-nanny-frenzy crock of sh!t, just like Daytime Running Lights. Loading explosive devices into the passenger compartment of a vehicle is CRAZY. Reasonable thinking went "out the window" when those regulations were enacted.
Even so...I'd be scared to advise you how to proceed. I'm not getting a notice from some lawyer based on my guidance in disabling a so-called "safety feature".
Official Response: For the love of God, put the damned air bag back--correctly--so it will function properly, as GM, Congress, and the NHTSA intended.

I understand and I've already figured it our myself...pretty simple if i might add. As you've stated it's probably best if I don't share how i went about doing it.
