2013 Yukon XL Denali AWD towing

I'm so confused, I've read the GMC 2013 Trailering Guide. Bottom line question. The tow capcity is 8100lbs. I want to buy a 7000 lb gross weight dual axle utility trailer (Class 4 I'm guessing). Can I do this? Seems to me like I would have 1100 lbs to spare. The GCVR is 14,000 lbs. truck weight is 6683 lbs. Then I read any car/truck towing capcity is GCVR - GVW plus passengers and cargo. 14,000 - 6683 = 7317. Me and my son are over 300 lbs!

2nd question, I read in the chart about DINGHY towing (whatever that is) and it says NO for my Yukon. But says yes for smaller trucks (arcadia, gmc terrain)? What is it and why can't I do it?

Thanks
Tony

If the trailer is 7k then what are you putting on it? Also I believe dinghy towing refers to a 2 wheel car lift rig. Does this vehicle have the tow package or is that std.. also 6.0 engine or 6.2?

The trailer is 7K gross I think it weighs 1000 lbs maybe more. So I could put 5000-6000 lbs on it. I don't know what I'm towing. What i mean is I'm not towing anything specific. I just want the ability to tow what I want.

Tow package is standard on the Denali.
6.2

Do you know of any places to buy a trailer?
I'm looking at
Congelosi Trailer Sales
2201 Rt. 17K
Montgomery, NY 12549
but they havn't returned my email in 3 days.

Not sure why but I guess no towing a car (DINGY).

I am familiar with flat bed race car trailers, there are many types/brands out there, careful with some aluminum trailers, 6k on board may be stretching it' s capacity, do not skimp on price and construction with a trailer and its connections sway bar/ load equlizers etc..As far as your truck maybe an external hd trans cooler if none is present and you are good to go here.
