FWD drifting is just a load of ass dragging crap. If you think that lame ass Civic was impressive then check out a D1 car drift, I guarantee you will have never seen anything like it.

Actually haters, errr, ummm, PEOPLE, yea people, I have seen a D1GP video before and I was at the Faulken Tires showoff, and it was nothing short of amazing and what i saw on that video blows the Faulken tires away because that was drifting in an FF car and I would like to see you do that in a Civic without a handbrake on dry pavement, can't do it?, thought so. So think of how hard it is to try to do that first before you be a dickhole to someone and be uptight about it just because it is an FF car, can't you see this guy has talent, if this guys was in an FR cars he would OWN everyone here. Man stupid people piss me off.:comprage1 :owned: :twak:

talent? it takes TALENT to get your FF car sideways for half a second? if that takes talent, then everyone in this world has that talent.

before YOU fly off the hook and start ragging on people, first consider that this is OUR opinion, and we may keep it as we please. if you think that's impressive, then so be it. gawk at it in "awe" all you want. i personally think it's a load of trash, and that guy probably just wants attention but is too cheap to go out and buy a real drift car.

it takes 100 times more talent to perfectly balance a power-over drift in a RWD car, and even more talent for some of the other techniques, so before you go around calling people "dickholes", i think you should consider that.

I personally think that those were E-Brake Drifts, but I couldn't tell for sure because of how small the video is. But I also do believe it does take skill to truely drift a FWD car, not an E brake drift either. Now I know alot of people here will argue with me on that point, let them, I don't care, I am not trying to change your opinion, don't try changing mine. But I do agree with S13_Iketani, you should have cooled it down some and realize that people were just stating their opinions.

I won't say that grabbing the handbrake in a corner qualifies as drifting, but I will say that it's a technique that amateur and professional lower class rally drivers (such as those in the British National Rallye Circuit's Super 1600 class) rely on to get their naturally understeering FF cars around extremely tight corners.

It may not be drifting, but it is a competition technique that requires some ability to use effectively and efficiently. Just ask Gilles Pannizi.

Well I understand using the Ebrake some, but using it for the whole slide, i don't consider that a drift. Using it to initiate and make small adjustments, yes.

if that's all you have to offer to the thread, with no back-up evidence or even anything stating your opinion as to WHY it's a "load of SHIT", then please, next time, refrain from posting.

iv seen a CRX drift once..it was in a old school japan video...I was told it was a girl that drove it, but it was the only time iv have ever seen a real FWD drift. She/he used the speed of the car to transfer the weight and loaded the tires with some nice breaking and downshifting, oversteer and little counter-steer..from the sound im assuming heal-toe was applied. but she did have to lock the rear wheels using the e-brake, the key thing on that video...is that she/he use the e-brake when the car was already sideways making her eliminating some understeer that most if not all FF cars have. It looked like more rally tech used on asphalt than anything, because of the throttle that was used before the cornor. Even so its somewhat possible to drift a FF car, I still call it "ass dragging" and it taken not nearly the skills you need to drift a FWD or even a AWD/4WD car. To End this thread...FF CARS SUCK PENIS!!

You can D with a FF car but the fun is less ...

It's pretty old though, so expect to just see an Evo 3 and a 4. But drifting in a FF is pretty limited. heh if you want to know anything about drifting, watch the anime Initial D. it's not just an anime, it's an anime about racing. in Initial D second Stage, there's even a race group made exclusively on Lan Evos. It's pretty old though, so expect to just see an Evo 3 and a 4.

But drifting in a FF is pretty limited. You best bet is to pull on the hand brake, i know, it's really not a drift, but it gets the job done all the same.

defined, it's more than a controlled fishtail. anyway, a drift is a conering manuver done at high speeds where all your tires lose traction, and you continue to slide around a curve. it's hard to imagine, i know, so i drew a crappy picture!

notice the car slides in the beggining? that's heavy oversteer brought on by a good amount of brake and turning the wheel. once sliding, you must counter-steer to keep control and not slide out. once you are done, straighten the car, full gas and power out, regaining some traction. methods for differernt drivetrains are very different, and it's easiest to make a FR car drift. by someone... http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread/t-4772.html

FF cars can and do drift. drifting is not limited to FR,MR,RR,or even AWD. FF cars can drift, because by definetion is the sideways motion or travel of a object under force being created by its self or of a exterior force. such as the cross wind while a object like a place is flying will cause it to drift off course. now why do u think a sport as such would be called drifting?
http://my.so-net.net.tw/s3sport323/cv4.wmv
if u dont believe ff cars cant drift then tell that to this D1GP civic.

It's certainly an interesting piece of footage, though I'm not exactly sure if it can change the views of an entire forum.

However, we do have a drift specific forum here at AF, and that's where this belongs. Feel free to stir the pot over there instead of digging up threads that have been dead and buried since late July last year.

Thanks for your time. Thread locked.
