Lateral acceleration sensor

I'm trying to help a friend find a part for his 2002 Expedition. His mechanic said he needs a "lateral acceleration sensor" (translation from German). Can anyone help me figure out what this could be? The mechanic "thinks" it's in the console, if the location helps any. Thanks.

Try to get the original German. Then maybe it can be translated correctly.

querbeschleunigungs sensor

What do you think that could be?

Ah, anti-lock brake sensor.

Ah, anti-lock brake sensor.

My friend's mechanic said this sensor is under/behind the console. Is there some non-wheel sensor there?

BTW, I just sent him a ABS computer/pump because his was shot.

thanks.

As I thought. It's not the ABS sensor. ABS = Anti-blockier System. Thanks anyway.

Following up for anyone that encounters this issue. There is a "lateral acceleration sensor" and it is one of several sensors contained in the "yaw sensor" located under the center console. I found a new, aftermarket one for $311.

Sorry if I lead you astray. My search for querbeschleunigungs at Volkswagon showed parts that when I put their part number in an english search kept coming back with anti-lock sensor.
