Hello!
I'm starting with a new project. This is Harada's Yamaha TZ250M.

Kits:

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u277/cannondaler/IMG_1309.jpg

First, removed chrome from frame and swingarm and cut rear sets. Then glued frame parts together and replace fairing/tank bracket (part A24).

How did you make the chain tensioner? They look like they came from a mold. Very cool.

Mr. Jekyll

Made them from 0,5mm polystyrene sheet and glued together.

Thanks for watching

nice and clean! your weld lines are better than tamiya's! what tool did you use to shape the welds? how did you keep them straight?
they look real already. wow!!!

Mr. Jekyll

Just apply Mr. Dissolved Putty. When little dries (approx. 7-10 min), I use angle cut syringe's needle...

I agree with 24hrs, your welds are the best I have seen! You should think about doing a little model seminar or youtube video of how you do it. I have tried different methods to get that effect and have always had an unsatisfactory experience. Either it dries too fast or I get too much and make a mess of it. You seem to have the process down pat!

Back with the Yamaha.

I'm working with fairings. Primered with Surfacer 1200 and painted Tamiya's TS26 as a base for red. I won't use white decals - I'll mask white areas and paint red overall.

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u277/cannondaler/IMG_1636_zpsd2c2708d.jpg

Made the bracket from a scrap of brass sheet follow the reference pics

Decided replace chain (I'll use the Top Studio one) so I have to rebuilt sprocket.

could you post or PM me the procedure used for painting the pipes??

I have to admit that I'm very satisfied with the final result. Especially I used this method for the first time :)

I painted pipes black gloss and Alclad Titanium (if I remember correctly) overall. Then paint with clear orange, blue and violet.
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u277/cannondaler/IMG_5272_zps9d5999f4.jpg (http://s170.photobucket.com/user/cannondaler/media/IMG_5272_zps9d5999f4.jpg.html)

Finally, paint with clear red in the middle of heating signs.
All paint with firm thinned Tamiya's acrylics low pressure.

Mr. Jekyll - those are undoubtedly the best scale 2 stroke pipes I've seen -
one last question - what size needle/jet did you use in the airbrush?? 0.18??
I will need to try out your technique
Thanks for sharing
John

Also Mr. Jekyll did you check the air supply for moisture ?? with regards to the micro bubbles??
