AFMOTY 2012: Official Entries!

01-02-2013, 10:29 PM
Finally, the AFMOTY 2012 entries are here! This year participation is unbelievable! (Thanks to my nagging, I bet :-) I believe, this is the biggest turnout in the last 3 years! Thanks to all who sent their models - and to all good luck! AFMOTY 2012 is officially OPEN FOR VOTING!

Voting is now CLOSED. Results will be posted soon.
Thanks to all who voted!

* Voting will start on or about January 2, 2013 when the Official AFMOTY 2012 Entries thread is posted, and will run for two weeks.
* Each vote must be identified by entry number and description.
* To vote, simply send a PM to both BVC500 and myself (360spider) with your vote. Include both usernames in the recipient window of your PM
* In the title window of your voting PM, place MOTY votes: (your username) ex- MOTY votes: gionc
* Votes not received by both Bernard and me will not be counted. Once again, make sure your voted goes to BOTH BVC500 and 360spider.
* You must allocate a total of 6 points to THREE (3) MODELS.

1st place = 3pts
2nd place = 2pts
3rd place =1pt

* Identify the builds you wish to apply your votes to by their entry number and description
* NO OTHER VOTING METHODS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Votes sent to me will not be counted
* Only AF members that joined BEFORE 1st December 2012 may vote. This is intended to avoid the possibility of people logging on with different names to vote again. If a vote is suspect, it will be investigated and if necessary deleted along with any involved entries.
* You CAN NOT vote for your own model.
* The judges decision will be FINAL.
* In the event of a tie, the model that received the most 3pt votes will be declared the winner. If still a tie - then the most 2pt votes.

Wow, simply amazing. So much talent in all those models. Those are really works of art. Great job guys.

01-03-2013, 01:10 AM
Holy wow! This is one of my favorite times of year - I love seeing what everyone here in our little, incredibly talented, community at AF has been able to accomplish. I am at the same time very proud and humbled to be in the company of each and every one of you who build and post and share here, and seeing the AFMOTY line up each year is one of the things that makes this place so incredibly special.

Unending thanks to 360Spider and BVC500 for putting this on. You guys are too good. Thank you!

Happy New Year and good luck, everyone!

also this year a great selection of great and wonderful models.
I am always too happy to be part of u guys.

Infinite thank u to Alex to organize all this :)

01-03-2013, 05:52 AM
Thank you all for this wonderful builds. There is too hard to vote. But for me the most impressive work is Porsche 997GT3R from Jochen Kiesich. Its pair of sports gloves was especially remembered.
Many thanks to Alex.

01-03-2013, 09:09 AM
Really all beautiful models. will be hard to vote.

01-03-2013, 02:44 PM
I can only agree with the previous comments - a great selection of subjects and some fantastic builds (and some lovely photography, too). It's going to be tricky getting down to six contenders, let alone a final three for my vote! Good job we've got a couple of weeks to decide...

Once again, congratulations to all those who have entered, and many thanks for the time and effort to organise everything.

No way to pick three, I have looked many times and I can not pick three of them and that is only by looking at pictures. When I remember all the threads for those models...darn, I will look a bit more :)
Alex, thanks for doing this ;)

01-04-2013, 01:16 AM
I'm a loser; I didn't enter. These builds are ALL fantastic!!

01-04-2013, 03:04 PM

:) With the quality of these builds, even if I did enter I would still be a loser...:iceslolan

Fantastic work by everyone that entered. Really impressive work!

Entries #21, #39 and #40 are not visible.

Entries #21, #39 and #40 are not visible.

The links set up correctly, as they were showing originally and nothing changed since. I can see 39 & 40, but not 21. Could image owners please check their hosting servers? One of the reason I insisted on reputable hosting.

I can see them all myself.

Do you usually answer voting PMs as I got no answer and vote confirmation whereas I can find the PM in my sent box, so I suppose everything is in order and answer not inevitably sent... :dunno:

01-05-2013, 12:06 AM
I don't confirm voting PMs, but let me assure you I got yours.

01-05-2013, 12:42 AM
All of them are visible to me...

01-05-2013, 12:48 AM
Now I can see all the entries.

I can see them all myself.

Same problem here, yesterday. I discovered that, before sending a private message, you have to activate the option "Save a copy of this message in your Sent Items folder". I also activated the option "Request a read receipt for this message".

WOW amazing entries, great job everybody!
So I am gonna pick three now :runaround::runaround::grinyes:

01-06-2013, 03:52 AM
Fantastic entries as always! Will be hard to pick three. Great work all of you!

As always I'm also sad to see the almost complete lack of bike entries. Agreed they seldom get to the top positions but there are a lot of inspiration to be gathered from the segment :-)

01-06-2013, 02:09 PM
I agree joelwideqvist - not that I build bikes but it is always weird to me that people don't enter because they feel like they won't "get to the top positions." I never really thought that wast he point of AFMOTY. I always felt it was more about showing off what everyone was most proud of from the year, so we can all enjoy what we've accomplished. I love seeing what everyone has built, from the winner to the no-votes. I doubt I will get a single vote but I make it a priority to enter every year I can.

01-06-2013, 05:20 PM
Interesting comment on motorcycles. The winner of Best of Show for the recent IPMS National was a motorcycle!

01-06-2013, 10:39 PM
Congratulations to all that have entered. All the models look incredible. It surely will be a challenge to vote. Ever year it seems that AF members raise the bar and the entries get better and better.

01-06-2013, 11:52 PM
Nice to see the tradition alive!!! Although i'm dissapointed i didn't build a single model this year. Time goes by so fast it seems like we just had moty11 last month. Definetly will have one for next year.

So many beautiful models its going to be difficult to decide between three. Sorry Bernard and Alex for not helping out this year. Mainly post at work now and late night. Next year will hopefully be different.

Good luck to everyone.

01-07-2013, 08:40 AM
FYI, I have been receiving votes, but have not responded yet in confirmation. I don't have the time to respond to each one as I receive them. I will respond after I collected a batch of votes.

01-09-2013, 03:22 PM
Less than a week left to vote. Please cast your votes - show support!

01-10-2013, 09:53 AM
MOTY never disappoint!!!! That's one hell of a selection, many stunning works it's nearly impossible to pick 3 out of them... Congratulations all, and big thank you to Alex, no words to reward your efforts~

01-11-2013, 09:28 PM
The votes stopped in the last couple days. Come on people - vote - its easier than building a model and entering the contest! Only 3 more days left - don't delay - vote right now!

01-12-2013, 12:03 AM
Done! Amazing work from all the participants and big thanks to 360spider and BVC500 for taking care of this.

01-12-2013, 10:19 AM
