I have a 92 Buick LeSabre Limited. I had a short in a wire which caused multiple wires to melt and break. I removed my dash and ran new wires one at a time hoping to keep everything functional. However, my auto climate control does not work. I have switched power to it at the plug and a good ground at the plug. I don't know what the rest of the wires are supposed to have or not have for power. There is a BROWN wire-this is the switched power wire, BLACK wire-the ground, PURPLE w/ WHITE Stripe- no idea on this one, 2 GREEN wires- no idea on these, and GRAY wire- seems to be for the interior lighting for lighting up the buttons at night. Any and all help is very appreciated.

purple & white is the blower, the 2 green ones is the compressor and the other green is condensor fan you are right the brown is power the gray is illumination and of course the black is ground. that is if you don`t have separate control for pass & driver. if you have a basic set up the info i gave you is correct. signed always stuck in diagnostics

Thank you matthew24u. I do have a separate passenger climate control. How does that change the wires. What would you recommend doing now as far as figuring out why the control seems to have no power. When I push a button it will beep but does not do anything else. The LED display is NOT lit up and there is no temp or fan speed controls. Do you think there is a fuse or a relay out?

dark green and white a/c request to pcm light green&white and dark green. are in &out the vehicle temp sensor and purple & white pass control input for temp control. but if all those wire got burnt pretty good then you probably fried the control head they are very sensitive to voltage and shorting. from the symptoms you are giving me it sounds like the controller is toast. I know you don`t want to hear that and they are pretty pricey like 500.00 for some models. signed, always stuck in diagnostics!!!!!!!

unplug your blower motor and check see if the power wire is purple or purple & white you will see it at the motor plug thick purple wire with or without the white stripe!!

A good thing to do would be to pick up a used control head at a junkyard, hoping it is a working model.

What you really need is a circuit diagram. I suspect you also need to check on the programmer box and how its power is applied. Something in the group has continuous power to it.
