suburban steering/ handling

I have a 1999 suburban that I resently acquired. I find the steering is very loose. It feels like a pickup truck hauling excessive weight in the back and the front end is lightened.
I had all inner & outer tie rods replaced, along with drop pitman arm, ball joints. The entire front end was inspected & alignment done.
It still feels very light in the front end, steering is too loose.
I read a thread about the steering position sensor, and how some people have felt a burst of power from the power steering pump. I haven't felt anything like that, the steering is very consistent at all speeds. I did remove the sensor, cleaned it, put it back in without any changes. Of course that could mean this sensor hasn't been working at all.
Any suggestions, advise?

Does sound like a steering sensor issue, and cleaning won't do anything for it. Replace the sensor and see what happens.

Okay, so possibly the sensor has never worked at all since I've had this suburban. thanks, I'll give it a try asap.
Thanks
