I just purchased the Nissan R390 GT1 from Tamiya. Anyone else have an issue with the rear deck fitting with the rear bumper? There's a small gap under the rear window where the lid meets the rear bumper attachment. Anyone else experience this? Should I use some styrene to lift to fill the gap?

Weird. Maybe as I assemble the car it will fit better. I just have the body mocked up.

Put it together with chassis and tub and see. I also cut the front end iff mine so may have relieved some stress that was there

I see the air scoops on the rear deck actually weighted it down. It will rest on the wing uprights when assembled. Thanks for the feedback. I love this kit!

Hey "speedphreak". Iīve finished this model just a month ago. I had many fitting issues with the whole "rearcover+body+chassis" parts. To start off, the body was a bit twisted + the roof a bit bent to a side + body and chassis didnīt want to meet at every point.
Solutions:
- roof had some pressure to move it to the other side, to correct possition. Took me about a week with some weight over it to be almost solved.
- for the rear cover I had to make little pieces of styrene to be glued on different spots of body and cover to make it fit and lock. Had to take special care to measure them so the cover could be removed by pulling the rear bumper a bit to the back. I might take pics of those little pieces if you ask me to. It actually worked 90% ok.
- for the body to chassis... just patience and a lot of superglue. It was a pain, and Iīm pretty sure I would never build this model again, even thou itīs a very good kit.

Good luck. If you find any fitting issues as you build just call my attention. I had a couple of them and could finally solve them. I might be able to help.

The paint should way it down too.

Do a search in the motor sports section, I'm in the middle of a super detailed build of this kit with SMS etched kit and RB Motion shocks. I had some issues with painting the body but all the other stuff is done.Hope it can help you with your build.

Thanks Marianitem and Hemi Killer! I am going to dry fit everything as soon as I am back from my holiday in Vegas! ;) I find the slower I go about the kit, the better. I never take this long building. I love this car however and want it to come out fairly good...at ,east to me. Haven't built in a while. I would much rather take my time then modify something and find out I did not have to...you know? Thanks so much for the kind words and input! I really appreciate it!

Marianitem...I would love to see some pics of your project....Hemi Killer also if you don't mind...could you send me the link to your build? Thanks!
