2007 Town Car A/C vent problem

I have a 2007 Town Car the trouble I am having is the A/C sometimes comes out the top vents then swiches to the floor just started doing this. I haven't tryed the heat to see if it does the same thing, should I do that to.
thanks if anyone has any ideas what they think it could be.
