99 Merucry Cougar Brake Light Problem

My driver side rear brake light doesn't work, its the one with two filaments, one for the turn signal, one for the stop light. The turn signal and all the other rear lights work fine. I changed the bulb and replaced the stop light switch with one I got from a salvage yard., and it still doesn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem could be?
