Hi everybody.....,:) :)

This is a second solution ( first was by RYAN GIOGIO) to have some nice wide-brimmed wheels.....
:D :D :D
Also, doing like this, we win one size more large.(18''.......19")

First, in a styren plastic i have made some wheel tyre, join with some putty...

I fixed with glue on the original wheel (2 differents kinds)...

I removed the rear circle of the wheels (circle in blue)...

After sanding and sanding, the wheels are ready for painting...

A small touch of primer paint....

The same original wheel in black....:bloated: :bloated: :bloated:

Wow!!! Very nice!!! I have a question though. What do you do about the increase diameter of the wheel as compared to the tire. Dont you have problems getting the tires on after making the wheels larger around? :alien:

I assume you cut off the same amount of rim from the back that you put on :)

Actually, I meant the inside diameter of the tire would now be smaller than the outside diameter of the wheel because of the added plastic.
Along the same topic lines, does anyone have any recommendations for increasing the width of tires? I am going to do this on my 1/12 Camaro so I can have wide slicks on the back. The tires are hollow. I was thinking about cutting the tires in parts and glueing them back together like i did on my black Camaro in the gallery. But slicks have no tread, so the cut lines will be really obvioous if not perfectly straight.

Ah! Sorry if I misunderstood you :bloated:

Anyway quality tires from makers like Tamiya are strectchy and have no problem fitting onto a slightly larger wheel diameter. :)

Merci Beaucoup!

Got great results trying it, now I can finally find a way to recycle those ugly ass little rims!
What I did, is use two instead of one styrene sheet, but one of 0.30 mm.
the outer was about one mm wider then the inner, and I do think this is the way to go to make some dishes!
Thanks a lot laurent!

Here is the pic, the rims are not painted yet, but just to show how well it worked out !
Love this technique!
Thanks again http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/484292Rims1.jpg

great idea ,the only problem i can see is with tamiya rims as they will sit outside the wheel arches ,so then you will have to flare the guards
