Another BMW M3. But now it will be a four door sedan. As a donor it will be used this Revell's BMW 325i.

Front and rear bumpers will be copied from this Dragon's M3.

The powertrain will be combined from different Tamiya, Fujimi and Bburago kits and partially scratched.

Finally I think to get smth. like this.

At first I started with the engine. The valve cover was cut from Bburago's M3 GTR and has been modified.

But then my brother built for me a new CAD model of another Motorsport wheel (as on the red car above).

What is the material that you used to make the molds?
Some kind of a russian two component silicone. But it was very very old (about 15 years old), so I had a little problem with one of the copy (see below)

Are you planning on using the Hasegawa lights for the front? They're better than the Revell lights. If you choose to use the Revell lights, you'll need to shave off the back to make the lights and lenses fit flush with the fender and hood. See my build:

Yes, I am. Moreover, there was no this part in my kit I bought on eBay
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/32/6072132/6131393630346664.jpg

Therefore I made this copy from Hasegawa.

wow, missed at all this nice one done by Mikahil !!
Very welldone also the evo2 motorsport rims.they were limited run version. I have on my real one the ones without the big writing over. They were done for the limited serie M3gt street cars.
Just some question my friend, loving so much this car and your models:
-is this revell kit the same one in hasegawa/tamiya boxes? also they made 4 doors (have 2 of theme)
-be careful on the front air intakes: depending from what year model car u are doing they are different, as well as the size and the position of the side arrows and many parts in the cockpit.
I say so cause the nice rims u made now were an optional parts over late restyling cars (as mine),while previous ones were used on cars from 1993-1996.
The red car on the aabove pic is a restyling model, so be careful with the front air intakes (the kidneys) of the dragon m3 coupè..
Hope u understand what I mean.

small details, but I know u care a lot of such. great work as usual Misha.

Every build you do, is an inspiration. Some of the scratch works are 'relatively simple' (but make so much difference!!!) while others are just master pieces.

lovegt40: Paolo, the Revell's kit was repacked by Tamiya. Thus, the Tamiya's is the same kit with better assembly manual and better tires. Hasegawa's kit is completely different, without engine and less detailed, but better shaped. Also I have a transkit of Touring from one Ukrainian guy.

Slightly off-topic, but I made a resin copies of the Hasegawa's airbag steering wheel because it is accurately shaped and can be used in Fujimi and Revell BMWs, such as the 535i, 750il and 850i.

You are right Bernard, the steering wheel in Hasegawa's kit looks great (the grey on the photo) compare to the Revell's (the black on the photo). The white wheel is from the sport version of Hasegawa's BMW 318i. But I will use a copy of the M-style steering wheel from Dragon's kit (the yellow one).

But I will use a copy of the M-style steering wheel from Dragon's kit (the yellow one).

Depends on the year of the car. My '95 has the M-style four spoke at the lower right, and I think at least all 95's and 96's had it. That 3 spoke didn't appear in E36s until later on, and I'm not sure that it ever came from the factory on E36 M3s (although it's a popular exchange).

Those new Motorsport wheels are fantastic!

May i ask, why you didn´t take Hasegawa´s body instead of the Revell one?
I never had the Revell kit in my own hands yet, but it seems to have a worse body than Hasegawa and you would´t have to correct the front end.

DasWiesel (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=67565): That's because it's a full detail kit with an engine. The body is not so bad. It has right proportions and size. The correction of the nose is not so crytical for me. The revell's body has many separate parts, which are better fot painting. The white is Revell's, the yellow is Hasegawa's.

I think the second to last picture in your comparisons really exemplifies all my frustrations with Revell. Check out those horrible sinks in rear, above the taillights and just under the deck lid. Revell plastic always seems "doughy" or melted to me. In your amazing hands, I am not worried, but I am never good enough to fix stuff like that.

I can't wait to see what you do, your builds are among my very favorites on AF or anywhere.

Been following this WIP since you started, as I am in love with the Saloon E36... and as always from you, it's superb!!!

I have one question from you Mikhail... Is there an chance of getting one of those Tourings?? I've see the progresa but didnt know it was for sale... My favourite variant of every Bimmer is always the Touring... <3

Keep on working, I'm already subscribed... :)

Cheers, James.

RoMaNo93 (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=643171): The Touring transkit has poor quality. It needs a lot of work. I don't recommend you to buy it. But I can ask about one for you, if you want to buy it in any case.

Why is there a second front end? I thought that's what that was in your previous picture but wasn't sure.

willimo (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/member.php?u=75086): That's because the nose on a body has defects and needs to be replaced. You can see the process here:

mikhail, of course if u plan copies of such nice M rims count me in.
what service did it made for u?

It seems to me the ukrainian guy made a very nice work, but he had problems in the (probably home made) casting. his skill is very high btw.

Of course down there they have now little more problems than our ones here.wish all the best for him.

you're doing an amazing job out there!

I love E36 and I'm really jealous about your collection.

are you sure about the sideskirts? I'm pretty sure that the sedan has different sideskirts from the coupè. Don't know if the US model has the same.

that's what I'm speeching about

and you have to change the door mouldings also
