need help ! idle air problem

hey guys i have a serious problem. i cleaned my iac valve to get rid of the sluggish idling. i turned the key and the kept reving. all the way to 5,000 rpms ( thats when i shut the car off) please help dont know what to do

i also cleaned the egr vavle and it is disconnected from the intake port is that an issue?

Year, engine type, and mileage always helps. But in general, everything needs to be reinstalled for the engine to run properly.
The IAC valve is electrically actuated, so if you sprayed cleaner into the electrics, they could become damaged. Also, if you tried to compress the pintle then that can damage the little engagement teeth inside as well.
The EGR valve is a vacuum-operated diphragm so check to be sure that the connections are airtight and that the valve operates normally by applying vacuum to the ports. You can also check for leaks while the engine is running by spraying carb cleaner at all of the vacuum connections and around the TB. Any change in engine RPM points to a leak where you sprayed.
Finally, check that the throttle cable and butterfly valve in the TB isn't stuck open.
