What does the tachometer do when the transmission seems to "pop out"?

So, they say that your transmission needs to be rebuilt because of a code that indicates an electrical fault (open circuit) with the pressure control solenoid? This must be one of those AAMCO (All Automatics Must Come Out) type chain places.

The worst case is that the solenoid assembly may have to be replaced. The best case is that you have a cut wire or bad connector somewhere.

Yea, thatswhat i thought. When it happened i was sst and i thought it was 3rd gear but they said 2nd. The shop used to be cottman but now its privately owned by a guy who used to work for cottman. Anyway still shifts normal exept for 3rd, im pretty sure its not 2nd it shifts smooth. At 2000 rpm 1st to 2nd it doesnt really drop off.

You took out the bolt that runs through the connector, right?

Yes, and you have to get it all the way back in and bolted tight when you install the new one, otherwise you'll have flaky problems.

Hi guys. i just posted another thread about overheating and was browsing open threads and saw that i never updated my post on transmission problem. So here it is, the trans shop was wrong no rebuild needed. After replacing selenoid pack no more problems. thanx for all the help much appreciated.
