I've been thinking about installing one, maybe one from the local boneyard, from a Blazer, Jimmy or whatever else had one like ours.
What ya'll think?

I can't speak for the smaller suv's, but when I installed them on my full sized utilities there was a dramatic improvement in handling.

I think Oldsmobile left it off to give the vehicle a softer ride. Installing one will probably give you better handling, especially under harsh off road conditions or when towing. In normal driving conditions it will stiffen the ride and take some of the "sway" or body roll when cornering hard or making a quick lane change but the trade off will be a rougher ride down the boulevard.
