Can someone who makes bikes tell me what kind of carbon fibre decal use?? It's a bit messy because there are a lot of kinds!!!
Thanks a lot

Daniel (racer93) is a great bike builder and may have some ideas.
Listen to him before me!

I like the Studio27 1/24 on a 1/12 bike. I think that looks a little more realistic using the smaller scale.

Just my :2cents:
I hope it helps!

Hi there,

whichever CF decal you use, the method is usually the same:

- place wide Tamiya tape (or similar) on the part to be carbonized
- cut a template with a sharp blade (e.g. #11 Excel)
- place template on the CF decal sheet (e.g. this one here (http://www.scaleproduction.de/product_info.php/info/p1630_Carbon-Decals-205x145mm---A5-.html))
- cut decal with a sharp blade
- soak decal in warm water
- apply decal on part
- wipe off excess water
- make sure it sits exactly where it should be
- let dry
- apply decal softener (e.g. MicroSol)
- wait until fully dry
- apply clearcoat
- look at it and smile

The decal may wrinkle a bit after you applied the decal softener. Don't worry, this will go away as it dries. You may help it with a brush soaked in softener. Using a hairdryer also helps the decals around corners. Just make sure you don't get too close or too hot!

Have fun, it's actually very simple and leads to great results.
