The Tamiya blog is listing a 1/12 Lotus 72D as a future release to be shown at the 2012 Nuremberg Toy Fair which opens tomorrow.

Its been a very long time since this one was in Tamiyas' catalogue.

The lack of tobacco and tyre markings could make for a bare looking model but hopefully the aftermarket will step in to fill the gaps

I'd like to think the 1/12 Enzo also listed is a plastic kit but i'm guessing its going to be the semi assemble die cast version

Of course someone will fill in the tobacco and other decals. That's a given.

Man I hope they do a plastic version on the Enzo, but likilyhood is that its a re-release of the 1:12 semi assembled version, probly in Black...
But we can only but dream!!!

If you read the comments section regarding the Enzo, it is described by the administrator as "It will be an assembly version kit version of 23205" and "a kit version of the die cast Enzo with some extra details."

Sounds like we have a real model, which is something several of us discussed/proposed with Tamiya-san several years ago at a Tamiya-con show. I hope that it is a sucess and we'll see the other 1/12 diecasts get the same treatment. I won't get the Enzo because I already have the red one on my shelf. Would love to get the Porsche and the latest Ferrari though.

Its not a plastic kit and has a MSRP of $610
