95 Grand Cherokee Headlights Out

I've got a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee (Laredo V8) that has been running fine but suddenly, both the headlights and fog lights have quit working. The running (yellow) lights are fine and the turn signals work. Surely, I couldn't have lost four bulbs at once so it must have been something else?

Any ideas? I am moderately competent in messing around under the hood.

Fuses, then connections near the headlights is what I'd check first.

Thanks. I had already checked the fuses, but did again--nothing. I also checked the connections as best I could, but nothing. I let it sit a couple days.

Today, I drove it (daytime) and when I got home and pulled up to the garage, I decided to "flash" them against the garage door to see if that works. Surprisingly, it did. So, I thought maybe the problem was in the switch. I turned the switch, and the lights worked!

So, I have no idea why they started working unless "flashing" them did something. It was the first time I had done that since they went out.

Anyway, thanks for the input!

Buy a used headlight switch. Find 'em on ebay.
I had a similar problem and the new switch fixed it.
