2000 Mustang v6
2000 toyota Celica
1998 Audi A4 2.8
1997 bmw 318is
1997 honda prelude
1999 civic si

Yet of that list , i cant find any that someone doesnt bitch and complain about how much they suck for some aparent reason mainly being speed. Besides im really into N/A cars the whole less maintenance thing is always good.

i'd go for the prelude....but i'm biased ;)

besides that, is the Celica a GTS?

yes GTS .

I like SI...Ludes are cool though also

1.hell no. maybe if u like replacing trannys after a year.
2.purty quick car, i think it is fugly.reliable
3.i considered these as well. they have a low resale value for a reason. they constantly break down and maintence $$ is a bitch. check any audi board and they will tell u these cars are hell.
4. purty zippy car and purty reliable. it is a good and proven engine. maintence is $$$. maybe a 325 or 328?
5.good solid car.bad gas milage for a jap car.
6.slowest of the bunch i think.good car though

im a little biased, but what about an integra?like a gsr? can keep up with all those cars and no reliablility issues. (well, maybe a little behind the audi). good luck.

gsr are a little over played in my town . thats the main reason i dont want one. Also , whats this about the mustang having to replace trannys? im going for a Manual if i get one .

I don't know about the tranny but I heard the V6 stangs blow head gaskets quite a bit. Probably because they are bimetal - aluminum head on cast iron block. And they suck. Forget the stang if you are going for a V6. If you want to step up to a V8 than I'd say go for it.
If you are not concerned much about gas mileage I'd say get the lude. It's the best thing I can see on the list there. Whats your spending limit? I'm guessing somewhere around 10-12K with that stuff you got there on the list.

yep 10k or a bit more . Why whats so bad about the mustang . I mean if thats what my friends dad can hook me up with for a good deal . im going to get it.

also V8 = INSANE insurance.

Well if you get a GT mustang the insurance will be bad. But if you can find a V8 without the GT package it will be a lot less. The only problem is people had to specifically order a V8 non-GT stang so there are not many aroung but I've seen them. I would just go with the prelude if I were you. It's a really nice car, probably faster than the mustang too. And you can't beat Hondas reliability.

yep ( owning a honda right now ) they are pretty reliable , i mean i do also like the prelude . The whole list is what i gave my friends dad and hes going to pick up one of those cars for me , for a really good price. So whatever i get out of those id be happy.


Im talkin like a 2001 mustang v6 20k miles on it , for like 8 grand . Thats the type of deal im lookin at

My daytona sounds nothing like a chain saw or bumblebee fart like a Honda. It has a deeper throaty sound. Remember, it's turbocharged which gives it a very unique sound. The V6 stangs however sound like a chainsaw.

any of those are good with the exception of the civic and the v6 rustank.

hrmmm...or get the gt-s, cuz then u'll have 185hp/155trq in a car that weighs only 2500lbs from only a 1.8 liter...compared to over 3000lbs w/ those numbers. hrmmm...the guy said he wants to keep it n/a, so the higher compression motor is going to be much better of a base then the pony any day. if ur gonna get a stang, get the V8, they're the ones w/ the power.

get a maxima; 3.0L V6 190 hp 205 lbs torque. almost the same and .8 liters smaller displacement not to mention the 4th gens(95-99) only weigh 2895 lbs. i average 28 mpg too.

not trying to toot my own horn. i just wouldn't buy the mustang

look into 3000gt's,or preludes, or maxima's. they're all similar in power; the honda's kinda low on torque, but still a nice car

compare the price...........

he SAID it was an option. plus...u can pick up a gt-s for well under 20k. so since he can afford one, i'd go w/ that...its the best n/a option on the list hands down.

no like , im going to spend 10k but the car will prob be worth around 13k private seller . its hard to explain but im gettin hooked up through a dealer. GTS are worth like 11k with like 60k miles on em.

i've only been in one 99-00 style mustang and it really isn't slow. you're not gonna get in and be disappointed, but there are other car's that will make you a lot happier. a 300zx, maxima, prelude, 3kgt, all pull as hard or harder get better gas mileage. i'm not sure how the mustangs aftermarket is but i know nissan and honda have a lot of stuff available. i say just go out and start test driving cars. decide for yourself. don't let 20 kids talk you into something by telling you their car is the best.

probably one of the smarter things ive heard today . Good thinking man , i mean thats what i was plannin on doing . its just you get so much bashing on certain cars it makes you second guess.

You should get a 95-99 Eclipse GS-T or GS-X. They are pretty quick stock and really easy to mod to make really fast. I think you can get 13's for under a grand.

Get what you want, but the Mustang will lose its value the quickest and probably not last as long if you drive it hard. It also has the oldest and most outdated chassis of any car currently made. The live rear axel combined with the cars bloatedness makes for a rough ride on normal city streets. If any Mustang was to be gotten it should be a GT, its quick and its resale is a little better, and lots of aftermarket. Why get a base Mustang when you could get a Honda flagship like a Prelude. Just look at the quality of the interior, the body panels and gap, the "CLUNK" as the doors close, the engine bay, the steering/shifting/handling. And whats with those ridiculous fenders the the Mustang, I bet 20s would look small. What does a Prelude engine/tranny combo fetch when its for sale? $2000+. How about the Mustangs 3.8 OHV V6/tranny? Im betting under a G. Are you gonna make payments? What are you doing with the Civ?

cash , and the civic is goin to my sister . ( rents are givin me money for the civic , which is part of the 10k im spendin)

I would get the v6 because its insurance isnt as insane as the v8

it's just because i test drove a 3kgt, 94 sh prelude, and the maxima i own now when i was considering cars and i ended up getting the one i thought was the best. i was relatively inpartial before i made my purchase and i'm just happy with it. gotta spread the joy, man.

and that's true i did name two nissans but only cuz they're somewhat similar cars. the 300zx is more or less a rwd maxima sport car. mine's the VQ engine the 300z is a VG,

a 3.2 cl type s would be good too but you'll pay out the ass, might as well get a GT stang. or an ITR or maybe gsr, but only if you plan on modding it. better off gettin' a civic and doin a gsr swap or 240sx with an sr-20t swap for a lot less
