Hey. Got up this morning and went and started my Jimmy for my wife so it would be warm. When she went to leave, it evidently would not shift out of park, so she turned it off. Now it wont shift or start.

Also, the key is not stuck in the ignition and the dash light do come on when I put the key in the ignition

Check the battery cables first, are the lights and horn strong? If all this checks out could be the ign. switch, not the key cylinder but the switch itself.

Ignition switch is not 100% out of the question, but I actually had that fixed this summer.
I just climbed underneath and sprayed some wd-40 on some of the linkage. Its almost like it didn't make it all the way into park (but it did sit there idling for about 10 minutes after I moved it) so the vehicle does not register it as being in park and now does not want to start. What would cause it to not shift out of park?

Horn is strong, lights are fine

Also, it is not turning over. Probably should have said that earlier.

Just talked to the garage. Evidently it was the Bitsy Solenoid

The bill says "inspected vehicle and found broken wire at shifter pigtail connector. Was necessary to repair broken wire".
